What does "High match", "low match", "reach", etc. mean?

High match means you have a good shot at getting in, it just isn’t completely sure. Low match means you have a better than good chance at getting in. Reach means you don’t have a great chance at getting in.

These terms are neither derogatory nor complimentary. I would not look too much into them since every one has a different gauge for what these terms mean.

From highest chance of getting in to lowest chance, the scale goes:

Safety -> Low Match -> Match -> High Match -> Low Reach -> Reach -> High Reach.

Safety means you’re in basically. There is no subjectivity to it, or very little. High reach means your chances of getting in are miniscule and you should not take admission to that university extremely emotionally.
