Has anyone applied to Clarks Scholars 2019?
I have submitted 3 names for recommendations and I am not sure if they have been successfully submitted. Any guidance will be helpful
I meant the status on the form is not clear, it says “Recommendation has been submitted.” Does anyone else have any other statuses
@JUP2020 Hey, I’m looking to apply this year as well! How did you get to a form to submit recommendation letters? All I have is a section where I put in the names and emails of the recommendors, but I don’t have any submit button for it.
submitted means it’s complete. If it’s still not complete, there won’t be any status.
What do you think they are looking for for the “Research Interests” essay? Should we just talk about what specific field we want to research in and why, or should we suggest possible research topics?
If you guys could give summaries of what you’re saying for that essay it would be great.
Elementalfury, I believe I just included the teacher information including their email and an email was sent to the teachers. Once they submit the recommendation the status changes. Can you check with the teachers?
I have a small question about the format of the program. If we get selected, are we to choose what we want to research in, or does our mentor choose for us? Thank you!
@rushilbyatnal I’m still very confused about the proper format for that essay as well. What did you decide? For your second question, I think it’s the sort of thing where you’d work with your mentor to figure out a project, but I’m not super sure about that.
Hi, everyone! I submitted my application but it said that I am missing all the recommendations. So I emailed them and they said that only one of the letters have been received. But I believe that another teacher has submitted it long ago too. Then I checked with the third teacher, who told me that she never received the email link. I am so confused about their portal. Does the same problem happen to you as well? My portal still appears that none of the letters has been submitted.
@yeastyyyy If you put their information into the box, they should have gotten the link. Maybe try emailing the program?
On the FAQ, it says, “Once I submit my application, will the recommendation link, post-application submission be sent to my teachers automatically? Yes.”
Does anyone know what they mean by this? Is there another recommendation besides the initial ones?
Also, this is kind of an odd question, but has anyone noticed how some spots on their website say Clark Scholars and some say Clarks Scholars? Does anyone know which is the correct one to use?
Last question! For the hours of involvement, is that per week or overall?
Thank you guys! I wish you all the best of luck in this opportunity.
@phaceshift Thanks! I think it is Clark Scholars which seems more appropriate but I don’t think that will actually matter.
I am currently panicking right now because the application unexpectedly closed on me before I could paste in my essays and submit.
Does anyone know if they’ll accept them through their email clark.scholars@ttu.edu?
I hope they do.
Also, I filled in everything else on the application but didn’t click submit. Will the application committee still have access to those materials even though I didn’t submit?
I’m having the same issue—I sent it to Dr. San Francisco as well.
Hopefully they still accept it!
@DarthPaper @EragonArya Did either of you receive a response yet? I’m in the same situation, and I’m really stressed.
yikes I should have posted––they opened the portal on the 23rd and were accepting submissions for that time period, probably due to closing it early on the 22nd. Keep your hopes up and explain to Dr. SF what happened when he does respond to your email. Best of luck!
Same here, could not submit it
Darthpaper, Did you ask someone to open the website
Did anyone else miss the re-opening of the application? If so, are you guys going to email them again? Not really sure what to do here.
What??? I did not know they reopened the portal
