I'm an incoming freshman set for orientation 103. I read somewhere that it's a good idea to have backup classes for the ones you wanna take, but all the other classes in my subject areas have pre requisites! So any advice o what I could take instead of Physics 1A, Chem 20A, and Math 31A if I don't get them at orientation? Preferably science related please

I personally think it would be difficult to take science and only science classes as an incoming freshmen, not only because classes will probably fill up before you can enroll, but also the aforementioned pre-requisites and also the purported difficulty of science classes. Although… I do know a guy who does worse in GE classes than in his science classes.

Anyways, I’d suggest GE classes such as Writing Composition 3 or History 1A.
Fun classes such as Biomedical Research 5HA.

If you can’t get into the major-related classes you want, go take a GE! If you really want to do science classes, you can take those GEs that satisfy the Foundations of Scientific Inquiry GE requirements.
