I wanted to be helpful by sharing that I got my Eastman rejection today. I’m actually pretty relieved, as I can move forward in life now !
Congrats everyone! And @flute123, Eastman (and Rice) are the two most selective schools in the country right now, I was just informed by our dean. Many of our kids at my school were rejected from them, except one soprano who got into Rice. So yes, move along with life and look forward to all the other good schools out there that you can attend! I am about to send my deposit into the school of my choice (after a couple of painful rejections) and I couldn’t be more excited 
@paintbrush22 that’s both surprising and comforting. Could’ve sworn Juilliard was waaaaayyy more selective? That’s what’s commonly known/heard when you go into the auditioning pool…

@OperaAdri years ago, yes, it was, and Juilliard is still the premier school for dance. It is still a great school for music regardless. There are great music instructors and coaches (most of them adjunct) and invaluable master classes, but you wil notice that less than half of those accepted to Juilliard will actually end up choosing it. Both Rice and Eastman actually have close to 80% acceptance to attendance rate!! (I believe this was only based on the last four years of stats).
Regardless, acceptance to any of these programs is not to be taken lightly, it is a huge accomplishment, but getting denied is nothing to get down in the depths of despair about. At crunch time, it usually has less to do with you than you would think.
Congrats on all the acceptances! Heard from someone I know that Eastman only accepts one guitarist per year…can that be right??? Also, @Trumpdad what does 50% scholarship mean at Berklee? Is that with Financial Aid? If not, that is quite a scholarship…Congrats!
@OperaAdri Getting into Julliard, especially when you consider they consistently have around a 7% acceptance rate, is something to be celebrated!!! Everyone should be celebrating that they are able to pursue their passion and that their parents are supportive in their endeavor!
Acceptance for piano at Juilliard last year was closer to 4%; I found out from a faculty member whose job it is… 
There is certainly going to be some odd variables with any given candidate. DD felt her auditions were not all equal in how she managed them, (although she did get in everywhere) and friends she knows had some very uneven results. This is, in part, the subjective nature of relying so heavily on a single audition.
Congratulations to so many here. Music is alive and well, with so many passionate people supporting it and working at it. Really heartening.
@rockinmomab, I would not be at all surprised to learn that Eastman accepts only one jazz guitarist (BM) per year. Have you or any other jazz guitar parents or students noticed that guitarists in general are not accepted to jazz programs at the same rate as other instrumentalists, especially so at the most elite schools? An admissions official at one conservatory told me it was because the traditional jazz big band requires piano, bass, percussion, and horns, but not guitar. From what I’ve observed, schools set different standards for different instruments. For example, this is the second year in a row that Juilliard has not accepted a single undergraduate jazz guitarist. When it comes to jazz guitar at Juilliard, undergrads compete with grad students for admission.
It’s really not wise to get into a “School A is the most selective” discussion, because no one has the proper information to make those determinations. One school may have graduated a bunch of one voice type the previous year and find themselves in need, so they will accept a larger number than usual, while another school may not have the room in their studios due to things like faculty attrition, students electing to remain for additional degrees, etc. Programs can shift subtly toward graduate or post grad and those things are not communicated in the marketing materials but again, can create openings or lack of same, thus making a school appear more (or less) selective in any given cycle.
Bottom line: It’s all about finding the school and teacher that’s right for you, no matter its position on a list. I think most of you know that, but I just want you to be able to be able to communicate that to others who may get hung up on names without knowing what’s behind them.
That’s true mezzo’smama; I remember a couple years ago a friend auditioned at a certain well known school who did not accept ONE soprano! Not one! (I suppose they shouldn’t have auditioned sopranos if that was going to be the case but that’s another discussion) I guess that would be a 0% acceptance rate for sopranos that year
Anyway, FINAL DECISION for me is Roosevelt (or CCPA) which was made official this morning 3/31/2015. Thanks for the fun everyone.

Sorry for posting all at once, Mezzo’sMama, but I came to this site late. Wish I’d found it earlier - it would have made the whole process easier. Anyway, I’m just glad that my musician S is our youngest because I don’t think I’d survive another application, audition, and waiting season!
