I am experiencing the strangest feeling ever right now. I woke up this morning and checked the status of my application, only to see "Decision: Admit- College Reviewed" What does this mean? haha, sounds like a stupid question I know, but it seems really strange that they'd make a decision after having my application in their hands for only 3 days? They received my transcripts and test scores on Dec. 17th. Am I really in?

Here are my stats in case anyone's interested:

Korean male
top 11% of mid-large sized high school
3.92 W. GPA
Taken most rigorous schedule offered
SAT 1: 750V, 680M
SAT2 :720 US History, 710 Writing, 700 Math 2c
No amazing EC's, soccer team for 4 years, captain 2
out of state

I figured I was just an average applicant for the College of Business. Anyways, anyone want to clarify this for me?

congrats to my fellow korean! :)
no your stats are not just average lololol it's surely above the average even for out of state applicants i think. you even have a solid shot at NYU Stern ED. anyway, damn my stats are way below yours :)

I actually would have applied to Stern ED had my app been ready in time. Unfortunately that was not the case. Im not sure whether or not i'm going to be applying to Stern RD or if I should just apply for CAS. UIUC is probably my second choice, tied with Boston College but behind U. Mich- Ann Arbor.
I guess the feeling of admission will sink in, and my doubts will go away once I get a packet in the mail. Good luck with your admission too.

hey guys .. i applied and in like a week i got a decision but i am not sure i got in because when i look online it goes decision: admit does it mean i got in but it toook so fast not even a week

Well, University of Wisconsin-Madison has similar ranges for SAT/ACT and Class Rank and stuff like that, but Wisconsin seems to have a little lower acceptance rate, around 55 percent, but UIUC has a common misconseption about having such a high acceptance rate, which hovers around the 70 percent mark, but every year UIUC states that if you are not reasonably close to one or both mid 50 ranges that you shouldn't even bother applying, said bluntly, which is why they even post the ranges on the application itself, which creates an already selective pool of prospective students etc.. But UIUC is a lot better place hands down, and that's an unbiased answer, haha.

Both are great universities, Wisconsin attracts more people because it's in the great abd beautiful city of Wisconsin. Urbana Champaign isn't that great of a town. Education- their neck to neck. I would go to UWM over UIUC.

ahh okay, well i was just asking bc i just got a letter from wisc. that said that my decision will be postponed (so basically deferred) so i was just wondering...still no news on uiuc yet tho!
