Re the email, I replied yesterday saying exactly what you all have said… that it must be a mistake because we applied for scholarships through MyBama 2+ months ago and have already gotten the Presidential Scholarship letter, etc. They responded today (which in my book is very promptly) saying that the prior email had been in error and they’ve got our application for scholarships on file. Upshot… not to worry. UA isn’t perfect, but if you have a problem they sure seem very responsive. Roll Tide!

Ok so I got accepted on December 2nd and the letter came in the mail today but I also filled out my scholarships app as well and my gpa and test scores meet the presidential scholarship standards. I have a 33 ACT and a 3.8 gpa but I did not receive anything regarding that. I was wondering if maybe that letter comes separately? Do you think it’s because I sent my ACT and transcript after sending my app? I’m really worried because the only way I would be able to attend bama is on a scholarship…please help I think I’m going to call them on Monday.

It will come separately @saminclouds

Scholarships come from a DIFFERENT office. So it will come!

Let us know if we can help in any way!

Once you can ascertain a date, be sure to set up your campus tour online…and then send an email to the people below in the HC and ask them if they can arrange the rest of your day.

Don’t delay setting up your campus tour! The tour is a mix of walking and riding in a small bus, so each tour is strictly limited to the number of seats on that small bus.

http://tour.ua.edu/

In the email to the below listed people, include:
Student’s name and contact info
Date and time of the Campus tour that you’ve reserved.
GPA and test scores (include likely NMSF if applicable)
Likely majors
Career interests (including med, law, etc)
Anything particular that you want to see. If you have an interest in seeing the new Science and Engineering Complex, the TV or radio stations, the B-school or what-have-you, let them know.

This is my first post. I have a question regarding to CBHP minor.
My daughter is admitted by UA and applied for CBHP minor. She is a national merit semifinalist, and has 36 ACT, and is a student from a highly ranked magnetic high school with good GPA. She plans to major in biology on a premed track. Is the CBHP minor good or bad (may take lots of time) for a premed student? Thank you in advance for providing information about this.

Welcome!

Your D submitted her app for CBH?

Your D won’t be too busy to be in CBH. CBH is good for premeds!

She would use her medically-related research for CBH projects…a two-fer!

mon2collgekids, thank you very much for your answer. This is really great news. Her application for the honors program was extended (people at UA honors program are very nice), she need to file her application soon. She got a very nice scholarship (much better than the presidential scholarship which covers out of state tuition for 4 years) even she is only a National Merit Semifinalist now. I am not concerned whether she will be admitted to the CBH program. She should be able to do very well if attends UA.
