Class of 2010: Where will You be applying this fall?

In the order that I want to attend:

George Washington (match)
WashU (low reach / low acceptance rates but otherwise match)
Rice (low reach / low acceptance rates but otherwise match)
Yale (reach)
Boston University (low match)
Pitt (safety, rolling admissions)

Well, that’s what my list looks like now. We’ll see in another week. Always changing.

I feel like if I make a list and attach my hopes and dreams to a “set in stone” list of schools, I’m just setting myself up for disappointment. So I’m gonna try to be freestyle throughout the process.

good luck 10’, some of you guys are CRAZY ambitious lol.

Haha. Supereagle, I agree completely! VERY AMBITIOUS!

^ Lol yeah we are

Reach: Columbia, Yale
Low Reach: Cornell?

Temple
UMass Amherst
UMass Lowell

I know that I definitely need to find more safeties/matches- if anyone has any suggestions let me know! I’m generally looking for a private fairly competitive school in new england with between 2500 and 10000 kids. I’m interested in international business or economics/international relations if IB isn’t available.

In order from farthest reach—> safety
Yale (dream school-- HUGE reach)
UPenn (again, huge reach)
Northeastern
BU
Bentley
Bryant
Quinnipiac
UMass (not interested in going there but i’ll def get in maybe with free tuition)

** Please let me know what other safeties/reaches/schools i should check out!!! ** I got a 29 on my ACTs and i’m a pretty good student (all a’s mostly) if that helps you.

Reach:
Emory
Vanderbilt

UCLA (dream school!)
maybe Brown

Maybe:
UNC - CH

Northeastern (match)
Brown (reach reach reach)
Boston College (if I get over my fear of the staircase) (match)
Holy Cross (match)
URI (safety)
RPI (match)

My top choices are NEU and Brown, but I doubt I’ll get into Brown, and even if I did, I’d be on the lower spectrum of students. I’d probably rather be an averager at NEU than on the lower end at Brown.

Reach:
Northwestern
Columbia
Cornell

Match:
NYU
William and Mary

Saftey:
Union
UCONN

Wow, many of you guys have already every choice planned… and me, well I’m just not THAT certain about the ones I will apply to, but I need far more research than what I have done  But so far I have some: (in no order)

-Rice
-Baylor (though I don’t like its location)
-Harvard
-U.Penn
-University Tx at Austin
-Texas A&M
-Hopkins? (heard it’s difficult to get in)
-…

As you can see, I’m mostly looking for ones within the limits of Texas, but I’m quite excited and nervous about the far away ones… mostly Harvard (since it’s a top school, and well I still hope that I can get in, if not oh I tried :(). Though I NEED to look for other ones (including other Ivy schools, I hope I get in one!) ;)

Brown, Purdue, Boston U. , URI, MIT, Yale Definitely; Maybe Harvard and Umass Amherst

Already made a list but felt like making a new one. Basically in order of selectivity after Columbia.

COLUMBIA (possibly ED)
Yale
Brown
Cornell
Williams
Swathmore
Macalster
Penn State Honors (like the program, not the location (too close), so might not end up applying)
U Rochester (waived app fee + scholarship. not that interested though…)
Union

Harvard
Princeton
Yale
Columbia
Brown
Emory
NYU (both NYC campus and Abu Dhabi)
UGA

I still don’t know if I really want to apply to Emory, but I feel like I should since it’s my obligatory in-state “match” … :|

Almost Positive:
Tufts
Wellesley
GWU
American
Smith or Mt. Holyoke

Considering:
Yale
Georgetown
UCLA (in state)
UCB " "

Maybe, but probably not:
UCSD
William and Mary
Barnard

I suck at decisions!

NJIT
Stevens Institute of Technology
Columbia University (Big stretch)
Cornell
Princeton
Howard

Most likely applying to/auditioning at:

Dream schools-

Juilliard
Curtis
Manhattan School of Music

Other schools-
Temple - another one I REALLY like :]
Rowan
Rutgers New Brunswick
Rutgers Camden
UArts in Philly
