same here, im trying to prepare for a deferral, hopefully not a rejection

yeah, a deferral will be a success...

hahaha. you people have no idea. the problem here is not the ed choice, but already the app process itself.

ever asked yourselves what it must be like for an overseas applicant in whose country the application to university is a joke and nobody cares much?? my entire school thinks i am crazy. you can't imagine how many bewildered looks were shot at me while i worked myself through my sat prep books. "is this math? oh. and in english? oooh. what the hell are you doing there?"

either people have no idea and don't understand or they are contemptuous. even if i get accepted, i'll be the exotic guy who took these mysterious tests and was talking about this obscure league called "ivy" or something. but what do i care.

my school's really competitive, and we send ~20 kids to ivies each year, so most people understand the process.

lol dude, ur in NJ

I'm the only person in my class applying to a higher-tier Ivy. We have three UPenn EDs this year though.

My school had never sent very many people to Ivies or other highly-selective schools. Last year was our peak year though - we had 5-7 people get into Ivies and one got into MIT, Caltech, and Stanford while another got in Pton ED. But then again, our class sizes are really small (50 to 60) so if we could have 5 people go off to Ivies it's quite a big accomplishment at my school already.

In my school....lol....one person in an Ivy is THE BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT.... no jokes.... one person in my school got into Princeton two years ago....and her name lives forever in my HS.....lol

in past 2 years, my school sent 9-10 kids to P'ton Early Decision.

like 1-2 more for RD

pk where in nj are you from?

hey is it possible to apply under another school's "ëarly action" NON BINDING POLICY while under the ED agreement with princeton??

i think princeton doesn't allow you to apply early action to other schools.

oh ok.....thanks....I did not do that btw....lol.. I was just asking

lol maddy. it would be very difficult for P'ton to find out, becuz you can just turn down the EA, or accept in case u get deferred.

but dont do it. you can get in BIG TROUBLE, becuz its considered breaking the ED agreement contract.

lol....no one should panick..... I didnt do it.... lol Was just asking.....Infact the thought of breeching that Princeton ED agreement is frightening!!

I'm expecting a deferral, which is irksome, since I really don't want to do my RD apps. =P Actually, I'm rather amused since everyone thinks I'm going to get outright denied. My flute teacher was like, -snort-, so you're applying to the reachiest of the reach, eh? I heard Princeton was harder to get into than Harvard. Gotta love that reassurance <3

Arwen, are you a girl? cuz ive never met a boy who plays the flute

yeah arwen not doing RD apps would be amazing! and i wish everyone here had more of the attitude that your flute teacher has!! at least there are no expectations that you'll get in.

ya, i am sure it's worse when EVERYONE thinks you'll get in.

just quadruples the sense of shame you'd feel if you were deferred/rejected.

on the other hand, if no one expects an acceptance, you can BLOW THEM ALL AWAY~ :)

Lol I just found the e-mail declaring my application complete! I got it two days ago, about 10 minutes after I got the "we've opened a file for you" e-mail, but somehow one made it into my inbox and one went into junk mail.

At least my application is complete!

WOAH!!!! WHAT THE HECK KIND OF SMILEY FACE IS THAT?!?!!?!

how do you do it?? lol put like a / mark between each character.
