The thing about facebook pics is that they frequently highlight the best a person can look, ever. =P Not that I care about how attractive a student population is; otherwise, I'd be applying to USC.

lol ya, you can tell becuz some of the pics are in really awkward poses, where we can only see one aspect of the face or something haha.

and with the makeup glistening in the perfect way, etc. lol. wat do u expect when ppl choose 1 pic out of hundreds to display?

well if you judge by how critical we are of people's appearances, then it seems like at least next year the class of 2011 (well at least the CCers) will be quite good looking!

^^ Hah, exactly what I was thinking

lol....i love the way you all switch topics like wildfire......anyways back to the ED thing........... Do u guys think the number of applicants would increase/decrease?

increase. princeton's #1 now. :)

The number of applicants will probably increase, since statistics show that there are more applicants this year in general. But, even if princeton is number one, do you think that will cause more people to apply? Harvard still has better name-recognition for the prestige-obsessed.

hopefully princeton may release the # of applicants soon once they get all the apps together and everything. in 2004, they released this number on november 18th (http://www.princeton.edu/main/news/archive/S07/44/41Q40/index.xml)

yea....but both schools are stopping the ED thing.....So you guys think it wouldnt affect their selectivity or anything....

Cause personally i think princeton has more work to do since they would have to pick ALL their applicants from one "pool" and they are not going to be sure the applicants are even going to attend.
And then applicants would become even more competitive and stressed out because they would want to stand out from a larger amount of applicants.....Well thats really not my problem but....I was just thinkin about it. Any opinions?

definitely. waitlist would be much bigger

Yeah, I just feel blessed that I made it in for the ED system.

It was like 1am when I first heard about the decision to remove the ED system from Pinceton and I was like "WHAAt?!" and the first thing I did was run to CC to check out whether this was for this school year or next (the news show didn't specify). I let out a huge sigh of relief when I saw a post saying it was for next year, heh.

lol it may save me 14 apps.

letsee 14 x $65= A LOT OF MONEY

I can only dream..

Almost 50 pages! That is insane! I just got back from a JSA trip, and I swear it was at 30-something when I left....

We better beat Stanford

not to mention all the money for score reports. eeek

JSA? where was it this time, Washington DC again?

isnt it in a few places across the nation?

No, this was a Fall State Convention in Danvers, MA. Winter Congress is in DC, but that isn't until February.

Edit: to answer the other question: yea, it is definitely in many places. There are many states: I'm in the Northeast State, but there is the Mid-Atlantic State, Northern and Southern California, Texas, Midwest, Pacific Northwest, Southeastern, and I think that is it. Each "state" holds 3 conferences a year, and a few more by region (there are a few regions in each state).

I did JSA for 1 year and got 3 best speaker awards. (but i really tried, becuz i really wanted those stupid gavel things). I got 2 at regionals, which was held at PRINCETON UNIVERSITY. I got 1 at winter congress, cuz they only gave 1 per each House/Senate group out of a bunch of kids. i was also moderator.

but i didn't even include any of these in my app, cuz i was just trying it out for a year (and showed no commitment watsoever). plus, it didn't fit my application theme :)

im mid-atlantic region

the northern california jsa convention was totally wasted...drugs, sex, beer everywhere.
