no i just want to get a general sense of how they stand academically. it doesn't mean much, but ppl with higher AI's have an overall better chance of getting in.

no they dont...

well if you are comparing a 4 AI with a 9 AI...obviously the latter one has a better chance....

a 4 AI who's a double legacy/URM with a 9AI who's an ORM...alright...

AI is unfair because it is biased towards those who attended small schools...

absolutely true ernie

Eh, why? I have a higher AI if I put myself as val of a class of 1000 rather than val of a class of 50.

Hey, how come nobody on CC is a recruited athlete?

naah there are rec. athletes on cc..... cant remember who though.....

Off-topic: Are any of the pre-meds applying to combined 8 or 7 year medical programs?

I'm not.
I think Texas A&M has something similar though where they go out and FIND a med school for you after undergrad and you're guaranteed placement somewhere.
But all the 7 year programs I know of (Northwestern, Boston U) require a Chem SAT II, and I took Bio.
Know of any good ones that don't?

yep, i am the recruited athlete. not so much of a hook tho, cos my scores are abysmal..........

Well, there aren't many combined programs at prestigious schools. Rice and Brown have them, but they're both 8 year, and ridiculously difficult to get in.

oh you're talking about the Rice-Baylor program? Yeah some of my friends are applying for that, but it only takes about 75 a year or something like that, I think...
And I didn't feel like filling out the Brown application haha.

If talking to the swimming coach and him saying he'll do what he can to get me in means I'm a recuited athlete, than I'm a recuited athlete.

This is how bored I am...I went back and found the ethnicity thread and the boy/girl list a while back on this thread and went through everyone and tried to picture them...and realized that there weren't very many of who posted on both! Wow, I am really procrastinating doing other apps...this is bad...:o

lol btlesgirl that is so funny. i am procrastinating too, and i must say i am quite amazing at it. in fact i think i should get an award for it so i can list it on my other apps :) on that note, how many other applications have you guys already completed?

My MSU doesn't count because my hs failed to send in my transcript.
I think I win for level of procrastination =P

haha don't worry, i haven't sent any and i'm not even sure where to APPLY yet!!

oh by the way, i heard upenn applicants get their decisions on dec 14 at 5pm. i'm jealous! maybe it is only saves a day, but it will be a very stressful day!

Same here, I have no idea where to apply besides Princeton (because I already applied), Stanford (because I already paid), and Wellesley (because I love it).

Whaaa exactly at 5pm? Does that mean they get their decisions online? O.o
