Class of 2011: Last Minute Questions?

Bring the bare minimum. I would not recommend trying the whole contact thing. Standing out for trying to get away with something is a very good way to become a target. From my experiences of being on cadre, trying to get away with stuff shows the cadre that you think you are special and the rules do not apply to you. As far as money and wallets if you bring it great, if not bring a picture ID and about $40. Either way, if your company does not allow wallets, sending it in a care package is not going to do any good. The cadre goes through every care package to screen it for items not allowed during plebe summer.
If you have not been working out and are not in good physical condition you will not get kicked out, but it will bring more attention to you, usually not a good thing over the summer. With a cadre that does not know much about you, the initial strength test is the first opportunity for them to evaluate you. For the academic year at the academy, physical fitness is one thing that there is not manditory events for. Unlike academics with 6 week grades, mandatory study hour and constant evaluations, you are expected to work out on your own for the PRT every six months. Nobody gives you a schedule or takes you on runs in the afternoon, it is going to be up to you to keep yourself in shape. If you fail the PRT it is your own fault.
