i am here too..

सबैजना को के छ हालखबर?
Just testing nepali unicode.:D

So, has everyone finished shopping?

i haven’t yet started…
dont know what to buy and what not to buy

I’m also very confused. Is anyone taking blankets and bed sheets from Nepal?

i think bed sheets and blankets are to be bought in college stores. they have even sent me a price for it! the airlines allows only 46 kilos. so, taking along blanket is not a good idea at all!

i havent started shopping as well. i just had my vaccinations.besides, the college has sent me a list of items to bring in college. but, i dont understand the names of half of em! (what are flip flops, dry erase, power strips cable…???@#$%^&)

flip flops = chappal

ayush753, is that a list especially for international students? If so, please post that here.
Here are some good lists that I found, the problem is that these are not 100% applicable for international students:

bump…

just to bring it in the first page!

Hey all, how is it going? It has been long, way long!!!1

yes, it has been long, way long.

seems like everyone is very busy -shopping, meeting relatives,…

What about you rena?

yes i agree with skunk. ayush753 please post that list here. it would be a great info.

oh.. I just started my shopping.

Just curious.. what is the main attraction of your college’s orientation program?
Let me tell you mine. We have a 5-day pre orientation ( for intl students) and then a 2-day orientation for all incoming freshman. We dont have anything special like canoeing, kayaking, etc. But we will be having a lot of parties to compensate that.

@rena-itsme
so, can we have a look at your shopping list?

omg, your orientation is gonna be exciting.

yes, my college too has a five day orientation program… during that we’ll be traveling mostly to nearby places and getting a feel of the US… our college does have an adventure tour for new students… but unfortunately, this tour coincides with Intl. Orientation Program … well, as rena said, for me also a lot n lot of partying will compensate all of that …

also, The baggage limit for various airlines is randomly changing n its getting real expensive to carry huge luggage. I think I’ll do most of my shopping when in the US. the folks at admission at my college sent me a list of required things with its prices in dollars and the prices are those things are comparable.. for some it is even cheaper than buying those stuff in KTM.. I’d rather carry cheap Indian Printed books ..

so, what say you guys.. is it advisable to buy things “there” than “here” ??
