Class of 2012 - Master List of Scholarship Awards

D has been accepted at Seattle Pacific with $6,000 a year and at California Lutheran with $10,000 a year. She’s leaning toward Seattle. :)

SPU has a lovely campus, and the kids from my son’s class who went there love it!

moominmama,
Thanks for letting us know. She will visit at the end of February with her dad. We’ve already heard good things from her two best girlfriends who have visited, so we think she will like it a lot and are encouraging her to go and have an adventure away from home (CLU is very close to our home and in a suburban area, so not as much adventure for her there).

D received 13.2K per year from Wheelock College. This was a Merit scholarship based on combined GPA and SAT scores. Top tier Merit was listed as 10-12K per year, lower stats receive 8-10K. I’m not sure how my daughter rated 13.2K , but we were very pleased.

University of Miami, University Scholarship 24 yearly for 4 years. Does anyone know anything about the honors program there?

For my d:

UMiami: Dean’s Scholarship: 16K yearly for 4 yrs
Ithaca College/Park School: 12K/year: Still waiting on Park Scholars

For D:
University of Iowa: $12,000 over four years; still waiting to hear about Old Gold and/or Presidential Scholarship
University of Missouri: $22,000 over four years
University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign: Haven’t heard yet, but expect it to be minimal if at all, perhaps $1,000 a year
Saint Louis University: $48,000 over four years
Marquette University: $36,000 over four years, still waiting to hear about one or two other possible awards

I don’t like to post stats, but I will say these were for between 30-33 on ACT, top 10% of class weighted rank.

Updating:
D was named an Old Gold Scholar at Iowa, which adds another $12,000, bringing her total there up to $24,000 over four years. Still waiting to hear about the Presidential.

D received $5,300 per year for Northern Michigan, art major and offered $7,500 per year from Rocky Mountain CAD, and SAIC offered her $2,000 without sending in a portfolio to apply for it.

mallomar, my wife’s boss is a Kenyon grad and really speaks highly of her time there.

I’ll try again . My wife’s boss’ wife is a Kenyon grad. Her boss is a Buckeye.

I’m big on Kenyon. Just have really liked the Kenyon grads I’ve met and seen so many really fabulous kids go there and do terrific things in life. I see it as a great school for D2 and plan to take her to visit this summer.

Regarding scholarships -

Actual hard money offer finally from U Mich - 20K/yr for four years which is indeed generous but would still have us paying $20k per year for D to attend as an out of state.

Also, notified today that D is a finalist for Emory Scholars. So impressed that they pay airfare to come to the interview. But she will just drive over. Very near us.

DS had been offered a $24k/yr merit scholarship at Tulane, but this has now been replaced by the Dean’s Honors scholarship ($36k/yr!)
