Class of 2012!!!!! :)

Well, EDI did received a lot of applications...around 1 000 i heard and there's still EDII and RD. I agree, it IS very competitive now but I'm sure it's not as competitive as the Ivies.

Whew~ I'm glad it's over for me.

Accepted! From upstate NY.

when i visited they were saying that too...i wish they could just take everyone that applied EDI because we love it so much. anyway i'm probably going to end up applying to colorado state because my dad went there, how about you?

Sorry to hear that, canderson and pakabo2. :\ Could you guys post your stats? I'm really surprised to hear how competitive it has gotten this year (I haven't heard back yet but I'm getting nervous).

well, i have a long list... boston college, notre dame (i have a lot of family that went there), duke (dad went there), tulane, miami of ohio, wake forest, villanova, michigan, possibly bucknell, lehigh, and loyola college in maryland. i'm just worried that everywhere is getting a lot more competitive. oh and to answer the other question, i had a 4.2 gpa (out of 5) and a 31 on the act, im a sports editor of the newspaper, on the varsity golf team, community service, and lots of other crap. I don't understand why i got rejected!!!! I might appeal the decision though b/c my college counselor said i could, and i've been doing a lot better this semester. but i really doubt that that would work out

apparently vandy doesn't do alot of EDI waitlisting b/c they don't want people to have to keep worrying about it, they either want to accept or reject. I thought that that was good logic, until i got rejected(haha). But really that's bull because that makes it very likely that the people that are borderline regular decision and get in are not as good of applicants as the people that were borderline that they rejected in EDI. It's just a dumb system, I think

GPA: 3.7/4.0, School: Rigorous College Prep, ACT: 27, Essays, ECs, Recs: Amazing...everybody who seemed to get in had ACT scores in the 30s, mine probably kept me out..good luck though rodia and everybody else who hasn't heard, you probably only have to wait one more day

people that got in probably aren't on anymore, they're out celebrating. but if any are, could you tell me what stuff you had, i'm curious about how i compare to you guys. not that i hate you or anything for getting in, just wondering

oh pakabo i didn't realize that ur from illinois, i am too. haha vandy must have a thing against illinoisans? haha i know that's definitely not true, b/c my high school has a really good history of getting people in there. where in illinois?

des plaines..like a half hour from chicago, how about you?

glenview! haha i go to glenbrook south. which high school do u go to

im sooooo jealous of everyone who heard back. My mail is sooo screwed up... people in the town next to me found out but I didn't. Im soooo not looking forward to another night without sleep and another day shaking from anxiety. lol. I'm really sorry to those who didn't get in. I'm totally with whoever said that everyone who applied ED should get it. I mean come on... we want it the most so we should get in! im actually OBSESSED with Vanderbilt, and i think my life will be over if i don't get in. omg... this is gonna be a longggg night ;-/

viator.represnt lol...maybe they already had enough freaky kids with 36s on their ACT from southern illinois and they didnt want us..haha

u guys are sick at golf, we got our asses beat by u guys at sectionals and then u won state. are u gonna appeal? im thinkin about it

haha yeah golf! we had a cute little assembly and short classes in celebration...but all our other sports suck. so for appealing, why not its worth a try right?

yeah thats what i say. no senioritis for us though, apparently you have to send senior grades and possibly another essay, basically do whatever they want. i e-mailed the admissions guy to see what you have to do for the appeals

great..i wonder what percent of appeals get in?? like .0041?

Here are my daughter's stats:

33 ACT; 2070 SAT
GPA 4.84/5.5 unweighted (school doesn't weight grades or rank); translates to an a- average with a curriculum that is all honors, ap, or accellerated
SAT IIS: 660 Chemistry; 680 Math II; 690 Spanish
Three sport athlete grades 9-12; lots of extracurriculars and community service

and she got in? i can't imagine that she got denied or deferred

Acepted!
and just finished Finals! Life is just kicking ass!
