Class of 2013 admit rate?

Did they just revise all the old stats for Cal?
The latest stats
http://www.ucop.edu/news/factsheets/2009/fall_2009_admissions_table_4.pdf</a>
say Cal has almost 30% admission rate from 2007-2009.

It includes winter admissions. It’s 23% for Fall 2009.

Yeah, 23% for fall.

Berkeley adcom must be replaced!
This would be bad for Berkeley.

It’s 21.6 for fall. This is ridiculous that they increased acceptances by 300 when I bet yield is going to increase. If the school goes above its 4300 target I am going to be ****ed. This school is already crowded enough they need to think about the UGs who are already here.

^ Exactly.

Greedy adcom people…

That’s amazing. Cal has a 30% admission rate for freshman.

That’s gotta be one of the saddest things I’ve seen in a while. Almost one in three people get admitted into this school. And considering how the UC applicant pool is of much lower quality than those of private schools, this can only mean Berkeley has an even lower admission standards than I had thought.

Pretty soon, getting a degree from Berkeley won’t be half as impressive as it once was. Not that it was very impressive to begin with. I’m simply stunned. The only consolation is that I’ll be getting out of here in a few more months. For the rest of you, good luck with this ailing school. Maybe the administration will make some changes and your time here won’t be heavily impacted by this drop of student intellectual quality.

How is the admit rate 30%?

Its been established that LA was harder to get into this year than Berkeley for w/e reason even if there were some people who denied it, it was apparent at my school and many others that I read

30% for both Fall and Spring admissions. Admits of both categories will enter as first year students.

Guys read the bottom of the link!!! The acceptance rate is 23% for fall!!!

still abnormally high; and saying that they separate the two dates of admissions doesnt suddenly change the bar to another level. It means they get to save stats for Berkeley’s fall profile, but many who get in for spring will go anyways. I’ll take my school as an example. Many got into UCSB, USC, and UCB spring. Pretty much 95% of them are opting to berkeley because of its prestige and cost in comparison to USC, so those people go anyways, just berkeley doesnt have to list their scores and gpa in their profile

That sucks then because that will make the admit rate super high

[UC Admissions Data Released - The Daily Californian](http://www.dailycal.org/article/105153/uc_admissions_data_released)

the UCOP stats is for instate for all the schools

yeah, because of the spring semester term, the acceptance rate jumps to nearly 30%

More people applied this year. This year they had the largest number of applicants than ever before, idk if that plays a role in the higher acceptance rate.

Can you guys calm down about the spring thing/total admit rate thing. What do you think privates like UPenn do all of the time? waitlist people so they don’t have to report it all for fall.

well even though Fall 2009 admit rate is 29.5%, it’s lower than Fall 2007 admit rate 30.8%.
So this is not the first time we see a 30% admit rate from Berkeley.
But since there’s the budget cut, it may change a few things.

I’m really start wondering whether getting accepted into Cal this year is a thing to be proud of now…I certainly hope it is.

The fall admit rate is 21%, the spring + fall is 29.5%
