i m sure that u r not from BNKS
else i would have known u
telling about mine; i am fixed for lafayette for ED
i would also like to encourage for applying ED in lafayette
lets go together there if we are accepted
about mine scores:CR-650, Writing-650, Maths-790
SAT 2 full in chemistry and maths2
ECA-deadly, Leadership-excellent, Reco-renowned teachers in USA are writing
rank deadly

BNKS 8

"Reco-renowned teachers in USA are writing"

Thats certainly not a thing to emphasize on.
The level of the teachers DON'T matter at all.
Its how well they know you and what they write that matters.
Were you studying in US??

hey vademecum,
i am from Budhanilkantha school
but now currently i am in USA
and i want to inform u that if ur reco is from renowned teacher, it really benifits you
just check it out, 'cauz i have asked the admission officer personally about it of different coll and unis

The Oct SAT date is looming guys. How's everyone's preparation?

hi guys

just got into this forum through a senior i know
i am +2 student looking to go to a agud college
will my +2 background be my weak point in comparision to the A level guys?

mckenzie

As far as I know you have absolutely no disadvantage compared to any other students esp. the A-level ones.
College do recognize many degrees from different boards all around the world and Nepal's HSEB is no exception.
Have good grades and EC's and good SAT score and good recos these things are what's required.

@mckenzie

Actually A-Levels one do have benefit over+2; as its the more challanging and recognized course
Similarly, IB students have benefits over A-Levels one; its the fact
But it is one criteria; the other ones like SAT, ECA and recos are there

@mckenzie:
Don't worry about the +2 thing.I believe +2 and A level are two very similar courses and equally challenging and also over the past few years many colleges have come to recognize HSEB.

The only disadvantage a +2 student might have is tht A level course is much more recognized but, as I had said in my earlier posts, that's not something good SAT I and SAT II scores can't cancel. So, just make sure that everything else is good.

P.S. October 4,the day of reckoning, is getting closer. So, how is everyone doing?

people applying for subjects like ECE(electricle and computer engineering) or EECS(electicle gineering and computer science) give a thought to JUB.dont disregard just because it is in germany. But these subject has the lowest continuity rate in regard to nepali students. if u think of being psycho and compete with the romanian and bulgarian minds have a try.JUB seems addicted to nepalese, 15 from nepal and with 1 nepali from hastings total 16 this year.here the only question is ,"do u have the guts to pass out with this degree in hand?"

@MCCCLIII

Ya Jacobs has really a rigor course load
but that doesn's mean nepalese doesn't have guts for it
i am applying Jacobs, its in my safety list
and i know many of the BNKS students do applly there
around 20 students with 3A, 4A and 5A are applying for fall 09
and about 10 other students will also be applying there

BTW where to get the transcripts and other stuffs Attested from When applying to IUB?(just like USEF in case of US schools)

And a question .....Should the hard copy mail(application) reach the colleges before deadline??Or just the online stuffs must be submitted before the Deadline.....I'm asking this because for RD I'll be sending in my apps through regular mail(In fact all of us), and as regular mail takes a long time to reach, should I send my application 1-3/2 months before the deadlines????Or what????Help!!

Colleges usually have the postmark dates, i.e. the date that is stamped in your application packet when you go to post it, as deadlines. So it need not arrive at the college before the deadline. It takes around a week to 10 days for the packet to reach the colleges. You can send in an email to colleges just to let them know that you've posted everything and it's on its way.
But if you have your packets ready, feel free post them any time before the deadline.

P.S. All the best to everyone taking his/her SAT this Saturday.

@ cui bono

ya its true that the colleges have post mark deadline; that means the date which is marked in your stamp must be before the deadline of the college
but mail the college and ask them whether the deadline is post mark or not
and if it is not post mark then send all the requirements before 20 days (i suggest) of the deadline if u are sending through post box
ordinary mails are 1 or two days quicker than registered but the latter one is better
it takes around 15 days for the documents to reach to the destiny through post box
And about the documents to be attested u can do that from your college counselor or from the principal or lawyer or government officer
thats it

Thanks guys for your help!!And best of luck to all of ya taking your SAT tomorrow.........

Uhuuuuu sooooooooooooooooooooo many people from Nepal!
but im not from nepal!heheh

@ cuibono

which school are u from?
and i want to tell u that Jacobs give a great importance to your Grades or high school academics record

best of luck guys for the tomorrows SAT
