Has anyone finished their common app essay?
@wheatstone1:I've set the limit to 550-600 words but it's probably going to be around 675 words.
@neo-nietzsche:I know wht u mean tht's exactly wht happened with my previous attempts and the advice I received was to write about something uniquely you no matter how boring it might sound.

good luck to all of you

@ivy30: where are u applying ED? i think its a good idea to set the world limit to around 600 words. But, my essay is turning out to be longer.
@everyone: is anyone thinking abt the economic depression and our chances of getting financial aid? almost everyone has been worrying about the financial aid package being affected. any opinions, comments?

Yeah guys the word limit is getting me in trouble too.How long can the essay be??(how many words at the most??)

yea financial crisis will certainly have an impact on every sector but I dont think it will have an immediate impact on the aid fund of colleges.

I know 2 others going for Stanford ED.I think they are really good. One of them is from Sxc.The other one i don't know. That makes it 6 for Stanford.Even ED is going 2 b competitive this time.

So many ppl opting for Stanford......

baabaa...
i think its going to b a tough competition with stanford then...one frm BNKS, one UWC, one STXC and the other three from???ne1???

btw does ne1 know how to download the common app with the commonapp ID???
how do you know ur commonapp ID in the first place
???

does this question actually matter in the admission process...i mean if its a tech college do you have to list down sci-fi books to better or chances or what yaar???

my first draft was 1000+....m down to 700...
but guess i'll write again...700 is still long i guess...from the essays i've seen most are not more than one n 1/3 of the A4 page at the most its one and half...j hos dont exceed two pages....

damn damn, why from UWC??? why o why?...IB ppl with an overriding (am i exaggerating?) advantage over A level ppl. one from RBS. and that unlucky one competing with 3 exceptionally talented(i think) candidates is Wheatstone1

^^^^above is the reply to #384^^^^

cicatrix, is that the stanford supplement u r talking abt? I really dont think one should frame his application based on what the college wants. its better to shape it on the basis of what u are, where ur own interest lies. u get it rite?....all that honesty thing that has been repeated so many times that its almost a cliche by now.
btw, are u from SXC or BNKS?

anyone interested in evaluating a personal statement??

@neo
bro... kenyon all the way..
CHEERS!!

hey mitscholar, i guess there are more than 6 for ED at Lafayette, more than 5 for ED at Gettysburg n about 3 for Franklin n Marshall. Its a tough competition yaar.

why is there always a pressure on Trinity, Lafayette Dickinson n Gettysburg?

i heard that many applies ED to Franklin n Marshall. Is it true?

@ badboy

398 m not very sure abt tht... i know of one from RBS and the other from BNKS.. thts it..

397 duh!! becuz its almost everyone's match... good acceptance rate.. good aid.. good career
