@ people with terrific scores
Whats a good writing score?? How much did u guys get?

@jimmorrision
Hey ur same to me ....a few point below but we are at the same level.and i was having the same trouble.i also felt that i did excellent in maths and CR:better than my usual practice tests but scores -in the hellll.anyway i am in a decision to register for Dec 6 ,test though.
And no scores no ED for me -i discussed a lot with my frens n consult university profile, though there are a very few that matches me, i am not going to apply ED nor EA.i am just thinking to apply ED II to that college where i was supposed to do ED I.

@ExplicitInnuendo------hey i know who u are?
and are ur ED fixed or u decided not to go for ED-Nov 1.

@MITscholar
Whoever u think i am, I guess i'll still go for ED.

@handsomegokul0.....hey i am jus ready to go anywhere else than USA yaar...=us has lost it's charm for me dude.....let me know if u have any colleges in your head that are really good and outside USA...i would be really glad

@jimmorrission
no man, not as u hav hoped. but i scored well enough to get accepted as Gettysburg,given that essay r good, if not better.

@Gyanendra..........
at times i also felt that most of ppl and stds opt only for USA.....so i also decided to go to any European Nation or Australia or UK.........but later i found there's no better place than USA to get world wide degree,,,,good climate,u can earn by your part time job and there are many ranked universites than any other nations
also when u see the sites and search scholarship,,u can hardly find full aid for int'l stds.......there are free education in some eurpean nations,,,,,,but still there's hard to live and live.,,,,so USA is best.........u should go for it
also excpt few Universities in UK ,,,,,,,,,u can try rest of the universities in europe as safety colleges ,,,,,,,,after u complete ur major applications.......

@hotncool,,,,,,,,,are u sure u wud get gettysburg......
post ur stats,,,,,
i wanna c how dift is me than u

wats happening to the ED list??
just got my scores!! 800 in all the subject tests!! lol :P

just kidding guys.. the scores were decent 2090 (acceptable) but my maths iic ruined everything..

anyone applyin to conn college for ED??? Beware.. lol

I have a question guys..
like I saw some sample essays and the standard of english was really high.. u knw, the standard of english of most nepali students will not be too high, does that play a very crucial factor in app essay.. using strong vocabs, with twists and turns, and tryin to make a novel out of a incident??
Can't we use simple langauge with quality writing..?? We all aren't going to study english literature, or be a shakespeare, are we?

if u ever use high language SAT words for the essay..
you will surely be REJECTED..
a word of advise

^^^ I totally agree with kushal purie!!!

I don't think i agree...is there a logic behind that?
I mean, you can use any word you want but have to make sure that it fits the context...but, in case, you have even a subtle doubt, be far from actually using it....

And, in case your essay is somewhat descriptive , and in most cases will be, try to explain the situation from your close perspective..i mean be very personnel, they want to know how you think and feel; not about that place or event....and, remember essays with twists, turn, epiphanies are not actually very impressive (that's my thought though)

English is good when it sounds simple.....Don't go for hard words for the sake of themselves.

So all the nepali brothers and sisters; how was your sat score?

using difficult words are also bad for another reason: they obstruct the flow of your essay....its better to let the reader flow along with your essay rather than make him stumble at few places even thought those stumbling blocks(vocabs) fit the context of your essay...this advice actually came from ONE OF THE TOP COLLEGE ADMISSION OFFICERs who visited Nepal last year

also please make sure that you dont use long and complex sentences....ppl have a common misconception that those sentences impress the reader...they may b grammatically corrcect, but infact they make readers tired!!

I had written a COmmon App essay which was full of vocabs and complex sentence constructions like you'd find in O Henry's short stories....but when I gave it to my teacher to review it, she asked me to abandon that essay outright...

So guys keep in mind, simplicity works best.

contd....
If you feel you are a terrific writer, then yes go for whatever you want....but for those who are not very confident about their writing, do consider reading my last post.

^^^^yea i totally agree
hey how is this for a starting?? he work is still going on!! mayb will finish within a week or half

Quoted::
Whether we have achieved our aims or are yet to achieve one; Whether we express it or are yet to express one; within ourselves we know where our energy and will to reach our goals come from and where our source of inspirations lie. For this very reason, every morning at the peek of dawn I steal a tiny glance at this most wonderful being whom i have had the privilege of having as my mother and who has inspired almost my entire life!!

hey seniors!! give some suggestion na!

like im applying ED to conn college and the results r set to be published in mid-dec..
is it possible to go for ED2 after the results(defered or ....... bhayo bhayo bhane)? tara plz nahos nahos!!

@puredreams
u cant have two EDs running at the same time..
u may apply for an ED2 only after ur ED1 application gets rejected or deferred..
so??
get your ED2 app ready.. as soon as you get(god forbid) rejected or deferred... have it mailed..
