well i m sorry i dunno if colleges see A levels as advantageous...
does ur scores get converted to gpa?
i thnk gpa is the standard form for evaluation..

@ AforApple Well, a 90 in I.Sc. is virtually impossible, never heard of it. However, if you have a lot of A's then that will give you a good GPA which is an obvious advantage, whether or not the US colleges know of the equivalence system. Besides, A level people are at an advantage as it is, having studied under an internationally recognized system.

And I took the SAT subject tests in November as well and yes, the percentiles are a bit disheartening. Even a full score in Maths 2 is the 90th percentile!!! The colleges do look at the percentiles but the scores have got to be more important, right?

Well I got 800 in MAth II and Physics and percentiles were 90 and 91 resp.

So, even if you get 800 in all subject tests like phy, chem and math2, your percentile is still low. So it does not matter since you cant get more than 800 to increase your percentile!!

Yes, if you give maths 1 instead of math2, then a score of 770 might mean a percentile as high as 95 and if you give Eng literature and so, then even a 700 might obtain a percentile of 99.

So I dont think percentile matters much. Anyone with contrasting ideas??

Okay guys.. lets start listing our first priority MAJORS below..

Im Computer Science!

Why always this A level versus +2/ISc thing??..this thing has been discussed time and again!!...everyone prepared for DEC 15 rejection by now???

Well colleges are getting poorer and more stingy. So, we are gonna have a tough time.

I m goin for double majors. BIoChem and Eng Lit. Thats the best thing I can studyt at Kenyon( if accepted). For other colleges, I am yet to decide.

@ post #905 I was just trying to help the guy out. I didn't know I.Sc. versus A levels even existed and was definitely not trying to go there.

we=bnks, dont have gpa system...
and that thing about the equivalence... its A=95, B=85, C=75 and so on...
