Kinda disappointed about the Yale rejection of course, but I didn’t REALLY expect to get into any of the Ivies. I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to GW, BC, and maybe Gtown [depending on Fin.Aid]. Northwestern would be in the running too, but they didn’t give me enough aid =/

tiakivia, You live in Baltimore? Do you know anything about MICA? I hear so many different things about safety issues. Any info about safety/living style would be much appreciated! Sorry about Johns Hopkins–Reed is a great school, though (and really different place from Baltimore!)

randominimus, I’m totally in the same boat as you…being an international (even though I’ve lived here for more than 10 years!) and needing fin aid sucks! even if you weren’t international or didn’t need aid, you could get in…■■■

Pomona was my dream school! Im quite happy I got in( and they gave me alot of financial aid basically covering all costs ), and denied Stanford’s waitlist. Quite frankly I was expecting a flat out rejection from stanford so im content. Anyone else going to Pomona?

Vtard: Cal poly SLO is actually quite competitive and even better and more selective than some UCs.

I never really had a #1 dream school type, but NYU is definitely the favourite of my favourites.

Tbh, I’m awfully glad with the acceptances I got. It’s pretty good for an international student with not so stellar SATs. I went into the whole application process with the Expect-Little-To-Avoid-Disappointment attitude. Plus, I’d already had a place from a great uni in the UK. So I got over the rejections 20 mins later. Now I have the REALLY tough decision of choosing between Duke, UVA and Williams. I’m getting a headache just thinking about it. :S

ichi09…I hear you on the loans, although I got pretty good aid for NYU. I think I’ll have to borrow $8000 of the PLUS loan each year and then $5500 for Stafford. It’s not ideal, but it’s not awful. I’ll just pay it back a bit at a time. I never wanted a house anyway.
