Ok so I have to decide between three colleges. I live in Illinois, and I got acepted to Penn State, University of Illinois-UC, and Saint Louis University.

The tuition for them are
PSU: ~37,000 (no financial aid)
UIUC:~30,000 (no financial aid)
SLU:~26,000 (with scholarship)

I can get the most AP credit for PSU and UIUC.

And I also got into the SLU Medical Scholars Program. Can someone help me decide were to get the best education?

Didn’t see this until now.

ACT: 36
SAT-II: 800 Chemistry, 800 Physics, 800 Math II, 800 US History

Demographics: Male, ethnicity unreported on applications
Activities: Co-founded two, leadership in six, membership in twelve as of senior year (overlap, obviously), including research and tech industry job. Switched between a few earlier in high school.
Essays: It takes a lot of effort for me to produce quality creative or narrative writing, especially of the introspective variety. As such, these were difficult, but they turned out well enough in the end. Harvard got earlier revisions, though, due to its earlier application deadline and somewhat to my chagrin in retrospect.

Accepted:

Caltech
Penn SEAS

GPA 4.0/4.0, unweighted 4.5
SAT : 2230 (CR:800, Math: 770, Writing, 660)

Seriously, I really believed that my CR score would make me get into at least one of my dream schools. (My EC was not so bad…and I did not even apply for FA)
I got waitlisted by my three top choices, but I don’t think I would get off from waitlist…
I think I would try to transfer after two years or so…

Wow, when I read the stats from most of you, I feel so stupid. Y’all are geniuses.

GPA: 3.59
ACT: 30
SAT IIs: math IIc: 650, Literature: 680, Chemistry: 600

ECs: band all 4 years, French National Honor Society: 3 years, officer senior year, President of another club, and member of a couple others
Work: worked as clean-up usher and concessions salesperson for an AMC Theatres
Community Service: Established and maintain a pop tab collecting program to benefit the Houston Ronald McDonald House. Started in 2005 with one school (my high school) and has grown to 9 schools in 5 districts in 2 states. Participate in the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life and other, local cancer fundraisers.
I am a 2-time cancer survivor, having been diagnosed first at age 14, then the cancer came back in another part of my body at 15. I missed more than 25% of school during the first two years of high school getting medical treatments. No perfect attendance award for me!! :)

Accepted: UArkansas, Bradley U, Colorado State, UColorado-Boulder, UConn, Indiana U, UMissouri, Purdue, Villanova, UWisconsin-Madison

Waitlisted: Bucknell, Washington & Lee

Rejected: Colgate, Cornell, Dartmouth, Holy Cross, Notre Dame, Princeton, Vanderbilt, UVA, Wake Forest,

Nicest rejection: Colgate’s was written in the nicest way possible and still reject someone.
Cruelest: Dartmouth’s online login form rejection with no paper letter later. My sister just graduated from Dartmouth in June so, while I didn’t expect to be admitted, it would have been nice to get a softer rejection in the mail. Guess they didn’t want to spend the postage on someone with close ties to the college.

I have NO idea where I’ll be next fall. Dad’s pushing hard for Arkansas because it’s the cheapest. If there were some waitlist magic, and some financial aid magic, I’d be thrilled. Otherwise…I don’t have a clue.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US!! :)
