***Class of 2014 NMSF Qualifying scores***

don’t think we’ve heard anything at all on La yet. I do not remember seeing that in any posts. Good luck.

and this is belated but suzysmom, I hear ya. Lots of us are aching today but you had the double blow of thinking kid was in :frowning: Hoping to see great posts from u by May of next year about how she ended up a great fit school with plenty of competitive merit aid :)

@yoskis Is that 187 a cutoff or a NASF who made it in MS?

@rockfishdg a NASF not a cutoff, but it is has to be close to the cutoff

I got 214 in OH…

Does anyone know if 212 in TN will qualify? Getting very anxious!

Yeah TN is 209

Does 209 and above qualify? Sorry to be a pest but I read the post to mean anything from 209 to 216 could be the cut off. A person who got 208 did not qualify but does that mean 209 and above qualifies? Just don’t want to get my hopes up! Thanks.

No, TN is not 209. TN cutoff is above 208 and below 217. We don’t have enough info to get more specific. It has fluctuated from 210-215ish in the past. I doubt that 209 will be high enough.

My son told me the Louisiana cut-off was 209 ( he was informed by GC today). I believe 209 is the same as last year,

^ I’m going to go with this info on LA, If anyone has any further info, please share!

Thank you LouMom!! 209 was the cutoff last year, and if it’s 209 this year, I made it! Are you sure that his GC said it was a 209?

^^^thats what my son told me, per GC cutoff was 209. With your score I think you are in good shape. Louisiana hasn’t been historically high.

updating with LA

Please use this template that explains the symbols below for each state

See the stickied FAQ thread in this forum for links to lists of previous scores.

After the press-release date in mid-September, qualifying scores will be available by phone from the NMSC. Here is the number to call–the receptionist will give you one “qualifying score” when asked.

National Merit Scholarship Corporation
1560 Sherman Avenue
Suite 200
Evanston, Illinois 60201-4897
Main Telephone: (847) 866-5100
Main Fax: (847) 866-5113

You can feel free to edit the list yourself. Or simply post your information and rely on others to edit it in.

If you have been notified that you are NMSF, post your score (and your state) if it is lower than the score already posted for your state. It will then become the lowest known qualifying score and be indicated as “<=”.

If you have reliable knowledge of what the qualifying score for your state is (try asking whoever notifies you!), post it here, too. It will become the definitive cut-off score for your state indicated by “=”.

Finally, if you know that you did not qualify and had a reasonably high score, it can also be useful to post your score as an example of the highest non-qualifying score. This can be indicated by “>=”

Please note: Be conscientious as you post scores on this thread–it would be crushing to be led to believe you have made the cutoff by a post but actually haven’t. But everyone should be tolerant of mistakes, too. This is an unofficial source of information derived from a collaborative process and is not, therefore, guaranteed.

Outstanding participants(National)=?

GA<=220 per our HS guidance counselor

I know we haven’t been historically high, but there have been some huge jumps this year it seems like! Thank you! Did your son get NMSF too?

^^^Thanks for asking, but no he did not make NMSF (just missed it, but will be commended). Congratulations to you!

Any additional info on NY cutoff score or confirmation of the<=219?

"/ Sorry, but if he was able to become a commended scholar, then I’m sure he still has some good chances for scholarships. Plus, he can always use TOPS and go to LSU!

Not a single report from any New England state (CT, RI, MA, VT, NH, ME)? Anyone have any news?

I guess the snail mail is taking its time getting to New England… we have heard nothing in VT and our GC is pretty on top of things like that.

A guy in a Facebook group I’m a member of claims to have scored a 225 in California and was named a NMSF.
