Class of 2014 RD :D

Yo guys, I got waitlisted and I am pretty happy with that, having got an 1820 SAT score, I was surprised I wasn’t flat out rejected pheww :stuck_out_tongue: I hope I get in off the waitlist, it would be awesome going to Babson  I still have to wait for BU so hopefully that goes well  Congratz too everyone! How many people here have Babson as their first choice? I want to see if they will accept big numbers in the waitlist this year

Suprisingly, I am accepted to Babson.

Not sure to go here or Bentley

Accepted! and shocked haha. is Babson most people’s first choice?

question: does anyone know when we find out about woman’s leadership, or diversity scholarships? i really need merit scholarships in order to attend babson! it’s my first choice! i am hoping for the best, but am SO happy to be accepted!

Received the acceptance packet today. The folder is beautiful! Contains financial aid info, acceptance letter, and info about Basically Babson Day. Congrats guys, idk if i’ll consider attending until I hear from my other schools.

It is my understanding that the Women’s Leadership Scholarship is for Women that were accepted early decision or action to Babson. My daughter received an invitation to interview for the scholarship with her acceptance letter. The letter said they selected her for an interview based on her leadership activities outlined her in her college application.

I think all the girls invited to interview were invited to attend an afternoon session before the Accepted Women’s overnight in February. There was something like 18 scholarships available. I am not sure if there were other groups interviewed, my daughter was not given a choice for her interview date. Babson made it sound like there were some international candidates that were being interviewed separately.

In late February, my daughter received a letter notifying her that she was awarded and named a Women Leadership Scholar. She was thrilled to given such a great opportunity and the scholarship. She has also found out that others in the group also received scholarship awards.

Again, I am not sure if all the scholarships were awarded. It is worth a call to the financial aid department to ask if any Women Leadership Scholarships are available.

Good luck and congratulations!

wow thanks a lot

dedicatedmother:

Thank you for getting back to me. I actually just received my letter in the mail today, nominating me to spend a night at Babson and interview for the Woman’s Leadership scholarship/program. Yaay!

Thanks!

jamjamjam,

Congrats for being chosen to interview for the Women’s Leadership Scholarship. Good luck and be prepared for the questions they outlined in the letter! Keep me up to date!

Firsly, congratulation to everyone who has recieved the Women’s Leadership Scholarship and Presidential!!! They are both incredible honors and you should all be very proud :)

For the WL Scholarship, they have already given notifications to those that applied EA or ED. Regular decision applicants will receive their nomination with their acceptance letter, and will be interviewed in April I believe. Unfortunately if you did not receive a nomination with your acceptance letter, then the WL scholarship will not be offered. You can, however, apply at the end of your freshman year to be admitted into the program but you will not receive the scholarship. Generally, 18-20 girls receive the scholarship, and 5-6 girls apply to the women’s leadership program (WLP) at the end of freshman year. The benefits (excluding scholarship) are the same for both.

If anyone would like more information about WLP and the scholarship, I’m the president of so I can probably help you out  Feel free to message me!

Accepted!

We should really make a facebook group.

Are you guys attending Babson’s Admit Day?

Are there any internationals who got accepted? How are you guys paying, because when I applied the school send me an email asking me to validate my ability to pay, since they do not give any sort of aid to internationals. I was quite surprised and told them to remove my application and send it back to me.

EVERYONE should make it out to Basically Babson Day on April 9th!!

useraverage, I’m an international accepted. I received the Presidential Scholarship, which is half-tuition.

I dont get it, why would they lie to my face like that!?

I don’t think they give need-based aid to international students, but I think they still give merit aid. The Presidential Scholarship is merit aid.

yes, I know about the need-based, but they told me they do not give any sort of aid to internationals, unfortunately, I cannot “prove” this now, since I was so angry that I just deleted the email and that was it. Is there a special application for the merit-based awards, what I understood from their website, applicants are automatically evaluated for merit awards, right?

I missed the CollegeBoard Verification deadline which was April 1st, but I sent everything today. Did anyone else miss it?

I really hope that they will give me the financial aid that they mentioned.

Accepted :d

useraverage, the merit-based scholarships are chosen by the admissions staff and the honors professors based on your application credentials. you do not apply for it; you are selected. if you are not selected for a merit-based scholarship, then there is no aid for international students.

there IS one that you can apply for, called the Weissman Scholarship (full tuition) which is given to 5-6 students every year (domestic and international).
