It is soooo reassuring when you receive that first acceptance letter.

BTW…some schools don’t ask/wait for test scores, because they accept the test score "stickies’ that are placed on high school transcripts. The stickies are score strips that the high school receives after your child takes an SAT or ACT. The school then places the sticky on your transcript. For some colleges, that’s good enough for them.

OMG, I’ve always harbored the secret desire that one of my kids would want to go there. I’ve heard that instead of a semester abroad, some students do a semester at the Grand Canyon. How cool is that?

I was going to add to this, as (current college junior) S had a 3.2 going into HS senior year. Moved to a new high school and pulled out a 2.8 or worse for the final year. The point is-- I went to the document binder to find out what his gpa actually was, and I can’t find anything with it (nothing!)… and NO ONE cares…

post script-- same kid has been on the Dean’s list since he arrived at college.

Congrats! NAU also has fixed tuition rates for 4 years, fixed room & board rates for 2 years and some nice scholarship opportunities. NAU participaptes in WUE. Flagstaff is a beautiful area. We’ve run into 3 families here in the midwest that have kids at NAU and are very happy as are their kids. It’s one of those “safety” schools that some kids just want to go to. My son applied also.

Congratulations & thank you for posting this.

“I wanted to post this to reassure all of you parents with average (truly average, not CC average) students that there is a school out there for your kid! We have spent the last 3 years agonizing - will he get in, is he good enough, etc.”
