This site is friggin' addictive :). I weaned myself off it for the past few months - school work and other distractions definitely helped my cause - but with application time drawing closer, I decided to pop back here :).

You need 1000 posts to become a senior member, dallo.

Yeah, you know you're getting addicted to CC.com when you carefully count off the 30 seconds in your head till you can click the "Latest Posts" button again :).

It's a great resource, though. Some of the stuff I've learnt on here has saved me weeks of work already.

For me, it's gonna save months of work! If I hadn't found CC, I would have been pestering my seniors to no end right now, asking them how they looked for colleges and stuff. Oh, and I would be trying to make sense of the whole ED-EA-SCEA thing. And lots of other stuff.

Viva CC! :D

^ Agreed!

Except I've taken to using the word "school".. my English friends are slowly going to grow to dislike me haha.

You guys realise that in just a year, we'll be the ones discussing where we've been accepted. Madness.

hey! I'm from China. I'm also to apply as class of 2014

Total madness. It's a scary but exhilarating thought that I'll probably know where I'm going to college at this time next year.

Welcome aboard, brezeck!

^I remember you from my first post. You already had 3000+posts back then.
If I hadn't stumbled onto this site accidentally I still would had probably been wandering aimlessly on the internet looking for good universities.
BTW are you guys already done with preparing your lists of colleges to apply?

Haha wow sure makes me feel like the geezer around here ;). Maybe I should get a new ID :p

I have a somewhat rough list...will probably finetune it over the next few months

Can anyone tell me a few colleges whihc ask for 2 subject tests instead of 3?I know Brown does:)

@tetrisfan-after 5000 posts, have you decided on what colleges you are going to apply to? which one are you applying ED ?

I keep changing my college list every few weeks, last week brown was at the top, right now its somewhere in the middle. Is this normal ??

I think thats entirely normal...I keep changing the country I wanna study in!...so,I guess theres no problem with you!...lol

^lol...i keep switching between USA,Canada and Australia....which ones do you keep switching between ??

USA,Singapore and India:)

Hey guys,i'm also applying next year. Can some of you suggest me LAC/universities with decent Computer Science department and offers alot of fin aid to international students(at least 90%).

Hey Dread, I'm sorry to say that in the terms of need blind aid there's really only Amherst and Williams for LACs. There's more that offer aid based on need, but if you need the whole tuition paid then the chances of acceptance are severely limited.

And yeah I pretty much have my list. But I'm applying to my favourite for EA so hopefully I'll get in there and won't have to do the millions of essays for everywhere else.

@smartchap: Most universities require 2 subjest tests instead of 3.For instance Yale and Dartmouth need only 2 subject tests and as for universities requiring 3 tests I only know of princeton and harvard.

@thebigcheese: I'm most probably gonna be ED-ing to Brown. Just love that place :). There is a remote (<10%) chance of SCEA-ing to Yale, but like I said, it's really remote.

Anyway I am gonna be trying to check out some universities (including these two) when I'm in the US this summer, so hopefully that should seal the deal.

Am I the only one who isn't switching between countries now?!

Here's the good thing though: US decisions come out much before any other countries' decisions. So if lady luck decides to shine upon you, she sure will save you some applications :D

I'm not either! Tetrisfan, be careful with summer visits, the semesters mostly end in May/June so the schools aren't open for visits over the summer. I had the same plan until Yale pointed out that during the summer nobody's there, it hadn't occurred to me before. Oops.

My summer break is in May. I checked, they're all in session :).
