@jamesk2014 Because I am from Dallas and Don’t wanna be that close to home lol. Sorry I messed the name up in my last post due to auto correct

Michigan state University
Central Michigan University
Columbia College Chicago
U of Missouri
I really don’t know where else to apply so I’ll just pray that I get into state (my first choice) sigh

UCLA

UCI

UCSB

UW Seattle

American
(2-5 are my safeties)

University of Michigan

NYU

Northwestern

BU

Emerson

Tufts

Penn State

Carnegie Mellon

Brandeis

(probably more) The thing that sucks about auditioning for BFA’s is that even when you have above par academic stats for the given school it’s still pretty much a reach because of the weight of the audition/BFA competitiveness.

@missyuri are you planning on reducing the amount of schools on your list?

@Ctesiphon The suggested amount of schools to apply for if you’re pursuing a performing arts degree is actually 10-15. It’s sort of a daunting task but I knew that I’d be applying to many schools and have been preparing myself as such.

Yes I know many of these are state U’s, but I’m in state to Florida and have a Pres. scholarship at Bama so those are my safeties:

(In order of a combo of preference):
- North Carolina - Chapel Hill
- Georgia
- Virginia
- Florida
- Michigan
- Alabama
- Ohio State
- Tulane (maybe)

In order of preference:

Duke (applying ED)

Northwestern

Cornell

Michigan (EA)

Maryland (EA, safety)

Virginia (EA)

Johns Hopkins

Wash U in St. Louis

Emory

Umass, likely honors (EA, safety, in-state)

Far reaches that don’t belong in the preference list:
Stanford
Harvard

I would like to add that if I get in EA to my top schools like michigan for example but don’t get in ED to Duke, I will not be applying RD to a few schools

By my own ranking:
- Stanford
- Harvey Mudd
- Brown
- Duke
- UC Berkeley
- Cal Poly SLO
- Swarthmore
- UCLA
- UCSD
- Cal Poly Pomona

Still thinking about the order, but that’s what I have right now. Will hopefully be studying some type of engineering (likely computer) at one of my top choices. The top schools will all take a little luck for me, but hopefully I won’t miss all of them! :)

Right now

Super act of god reach
Cornell
Georgetown
UC Berkeley

Reach
University of Rochester
UCSD
Emory

Match:
UCSB
UC Davis
American Univeristy

Safety:
Sacramento State

Wellesley ED

Reed

Scripps

Colgate

Miami University

Howard
Those are the only ones I’m definitely applying to. I need to add a few more to my list.

@z0e101 I’ve yet to visit any of the schools that I’m applying to, although I seriously hope to get that going as soon as possible.

Final list in order of preference:
- UMass Amherst (EA, high match)
- Northeastern (reach)
- Bentley (reach)
- Quinnipiac (Rolling, match)
- UNC-Wilmington (EA, match)
- Syracuse (low reach)
- Hofstra (EA, low match)
- Stetson (Significant Student status, low match)
- Rider (EA, safety, in-state)

My Top 5 In-States are:
- UCSB (Slight Reach)
- SDSU (Match)
- UCSD (Reach)
- UCI (Match)
- UC Davis (Match)
- Berkeley (Reach beyond all measure but what the hell)
My safety is just the honors program at my local community college which I automatically get into with my ACT score. Just do that for 2 years then transfer if I have to.

My few Out-Of-States I’m considering are:
- U of Hawaii at Manoa
- West Virginia University
- U of M Twin Cities
- Stony Brook University
Might apply to 2 of those but to be honest I probably have no chance at all of affording it so probably not.

Okay, my last post on this thread, since this is final and I’m beyond done…

Amherst

Bard

Bennington

Bowdoin

Connecticut (College)

Dartmouth

Skidmore

Vassar - ED I

Wesleyan

Williams

Auburn University! :D

(Haha, don’t I feel like the sore thumb in this thread )

Guys, should I apply to Georgia Tech?? They have awesome engineering and I can probably get into the Honors college, if not the Presidential scholarship. I’ve just been freaking out about not getting in anywhere except UCs and having to deal with a campus of 50% Asians (I’m Asian so I can say this haha - I took a class at Berkeley last summer, and I would like more diversity in college… waaaay too many of my own kind)

@caffeinemolecule Virginia Tech, Drexel and Case Western would all be somewhat safeties for you.

Boston University
Carnegie Mellon University
University of Hartford
Hofstra University
University of Rochester
Temple University
Western Connecticut State University

I don’t really have super specific order of preference, so…

Would love to attend
-Smith College
-Carleton College
