Class of 2015 ED

Who out there is applying Early Decision to Smith College Class of 2015?

I’m thinking about it. Can’t decide to apply EDI or EDII… I think I’m going to talk to my counselor and a few other people before deciding though. It’s definitely my first choice. :D

My D did ED1 and knew before the x-mas holidays which was nice and saved her from doing a lot of other apps

I’m definitely thinking about it- it’s my top choice. :)

My D. is going ED at Smith. We visited over Labor Day Weekend and she fell in love with it. Although Bryn Mawr was a very close second. Which is funny b/c they both have very different feels to them. Even though it was move in day at S. we walked right in to the houses and looked around. The students were great and one even talked to us for awhile and showed us her room. She was so cute. She told us all about the Smith traditions eg; Julia Child Day etc. Good Luck to everyone.

I’m applying ED this year! Smith’s def my top choice! :)

Sballathlete, where are you from and what makes Smith your first choice?

I’ve decided I’m applying EDII for sure (just because I want the extra time to make sure everything is perfect). Should we make a thread when the ED results come in (wow, only a few months to go) to see who’s going next year?

grateful 1:
I’m from Georgia (Atlanta area), and after looking at all that smith college has to offer, both academically and for extra-curricular activities (i’ll be playing softball), i knew that smith was my first choice!

I should be - not sure whether it’ll be EDI or EDII yet. I’m also trying to decide between Smith and Hamilton for ED, but I’m leaning towards Smith. I can’t visit since I’m living halfway around the world, which doesn’t help.

I’m applying EDI. Agh. I’m just stressed because I feel like maybe I’m not good enough but then everyone’s telling me I have a decent chance… Definitely my top choice, I’m just too attached to it and I know it’s going to hurt a lot if I don’t get in.

wanton—

I feel the same way. I really want to go to Smith and I’ll be heartbroken if I don’t get in, but what happens happens. :/

Oh and does anyone know when results for EDI and EDII come out? So if I apply for EDII I have enough time to apply Reg decision elsewhere if I find out I didn’t get in?

Good to know someone else is sharing the stress, as horrible as that sounds, haha.
For some reason I think that results for EDI come out around a month after submission, so about December 15. I’ll look that up though and probably edit this post though, because I was wondering the same.
Edit: Yeah, all the things I’m seeing about ED say that they’ll notify you by Dec 15 to let you know if you’re in.

Also-- have you had an interview or do you plan on getting one?

I’m applying for ED to Smith College! I have almost everything done. I’m nervous though, but optimistic nonetheless.

If it’s any consolation, we were nervous about everywhere except D’s Safety, no matter how much things looked good logically.

@Jamlessberries: I don’t think there’s enough time to apply regular decision elsewhere if you apply ED II and don’t get in. If I remember correctly, ED II decisions come out in mid-January.

To all those working on ED…best of luck. I was accepted ED last year and Smith has been all I hoped

@Momwaitingfornew: Thanks. That means I’ll have to make slightly different plans. Probably will just have to apply EDII and regular decision at other schools and pull my application at the other schools if I do get in, which seems to be what most people doing EDII do…

I can’t believe the deadlines are coming up so soon. It seems like it was August yesterday and I was just starting the Common App.

Well, for at least some students it was, “I meant to get my essays done over the summer, now I hope I can get them done by Thanksgiving.”

I wish that I was, but my parents (very reasonably) want me to not do ED anywhere, so that I can compare financial aid packages… If everything goes the way that I hope it will though I will be at Smith, as it is without a doubt my first choice.
