[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Um. Well. i dunno. Normally this is the part where someone says I must have had some glaring problem in my app (e.g. bad rec’s), but I just got the Cornelius Vanderbilt scholarship a few days ago. so basically, I’ve not only been accepted, but offered a prestigious full-tuition merit scholarship (<.5% offered) to a university essentially equal in selectivity and prestige (vanderbilt), while not even receiving a spot on the waitlist at WashU. Oh, I was also offered early acceptance and a good sum ($13k/yr) through Emory Scholars and am a Renaissance Scholar finalist at UofRochester (full tuition, less than 1% of applicants get… about 1/3 of the finalists)[/li][/ul]General Comments: With scholarships and early acceptances from Vandy, Emory, and Rochester, I’m not too torn up about this on a personal level. like, I don’t feel inadequate, etc. I also knew I wouldn’t be going a month ago when I didn’t get the scholarship, since I already had a better deal at Emory at the time, so by this point I’ve completely detached my sights from WashU. Still, I honestly felt I had a really great chance at WashU, certainly at least for the waitlist. But anyhoo, I still have six more colleges to hear from, my top six in fact, so I’m still pretty excited about the next month. Good luck to everyone who decides to attend WashU! It is a great school!</p>
