@ywna49: I completely understand what you’re saying. This will be my 3rd decision as well. At least BC is a great school. We’ll be successful wherever we go! :)

@micrus1896–yes, you’re definitely right! It’s nice to know someone else is in the same boat. And congrats on Tufts; I have several good friends who were waitlisted there with solid stats, so you must be a great student :)

Has everyone gotten their letters? I live in NY (pretty close to DC) and still have not gotten mine…

I live in CT and got mine on Friday…you’ll probably get it tomorrow!

Just curious, do they end up calling you with congratulations?

I heard somewhere they do that.

I’m from RI, and I got my letter Friday. Maybe you’ll get it tomorrow?
And there’s no phone call. You just get the acceptance letter and then a booklet with information on the Open House the next day.

Has anyone seen the Facebook group yet?

@ywna49–i agree with micrus1896, BC is still a really good school and i’m sure you’ll have a great experience if you end up there. I was initially really happy that i got into USC, but nothing beats Georgetown when it comes to IR. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens…

@yummigummi-Thanks for the positive thinking! And USC is also a great school–one of my best friends is originally from CA, was accepted there, and is seriously considering it!
Good luck to all of us in May…gahhhh the waiting game begins again…

rejected. cruel world

just checked the mail for today and still no letter which is weird considering i live so close (NYC) and another kid from my school already got his letter…should I call to see what is happening? Or just wait until the end of the week?

I would call or ask to send an email.

Carbon–As an EA admit, I did receive a welcoming phone call. I would imagine regular decision admits would too.

I actually received a phone call today. It was from an alumni, and she was really nice. But I had already received my acceptance in the mail so I guess it’s sort of a follow-up.

rejecteddd. had two family relations to the university too. bummer

OK, so I got an email saying “Congrats on your acceptance to Georgetown University” before going on to attaching an invitation to GAAP and asking me to join GAAP’s FaceBook group.

But I never got an email officially accepting me to Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service or Georgetown University itself (I’m an international so I don’t think I’ll get a letter).

So with that in mind, I have a couple of questions:

1) Have I been accepted for sure
2) If yes to 1), then was it to the College or SFS

Should I call and clarify with them? I find it hard to believe they send me an invitation to GAAP plus a one-line congratulation about getting in without the formal dithyrambic letter congratulating me on my ‘fine achievements yada yada’ and how I got into a class when so many students applied.

If there are any international students who applied to SFS or GTown College, can you let me know how you were told you got accepted and what your letter contained?

^ This matters to me as without SFS there is no chance I’d take Georgetown over Yale or Stanford but SFS makes it a closer race…

^What school did you apply to? I didn’t think it was possible to apply to two. Call the admissions office.

I don’t think they admit students into any school other than that to which they applied.

If you applied to SFS, you either got into SFS or you were rejected. I don’t think they would admit you to the College if you didn’t apply to it.

^ 100% speculation; don’t take my word for it.
