I've been adding up the number of students asssigned to First-Year Courses for this fall and I'm getting an astonishingly high number of students for the class of 2017. Of course this methodology is probably not appropriate. Does anyone know how many students are expected to arrive for this class in August?

To answer my own question provisionally, I hear that the entering class this fall is 575, well above the usual 500 or so. If I’m wrong maybe someone could correct me. I wonder what the impact will be on the next incoming class?

553 is the final tally.

Thanks! I’m not surprised at the high number. We took our daughter to the freshman orientation, met some of her profs, etc., and are very happy about her choice to attend. She is settling right in.
