Class of 2018 Carnegie Mellon RD Discussion

still waiting. 9 colleges this week. stat test tomorrow :frowning:

Accepted CIT (ECE specifically) but denied from Mellon College of Science. Is that considered abnormal? Especially since CIT is supposed to be much harder to get into?

So I got admitted into Tepper Business School but wait listed at SCS. I donā€™t see anything about a priority wait list; does that mean that Iā€™m only on the regular wait list? To the people who are on the priority wait list: where does it say that you made the priority wait list? Was it on the back of your big fat letter?

Accepted into Tepper, IS, and Dietrich Econ :)

We came home from dinner to find a fat envelope in the mail box. I screamed and my son just tore open the envelope. We live in Ohio . Our son was accepted into the Mellon College of Science -Math Major!
He applied for financial aid so we are waiting to hear.

GPA 3.98 unweighted
ACT 34
SAT 2140

Question - My sonā€™s Priority Waitlist notification was for Tepper only - no mention of the other two colleges he applied to at CMU. Does this mean those will come separately - or does this waitlist notification count for all three?? Thanks.

Fat Envelope in the mail for DD in Ohio. Accepted to college of science.

GPA: 4.0 unweighted
ACT: 33
SAT: 2320

My son got the fat letter today. So grateful. Mellon college of science.

Anyone accepted receive the packet earlier/later than their regular mail?

S accepted into MCS and DC and was offered entry in Science and Humanities Scholar program. Anyone know anything about this program?

Regarding Financial Aid. The Fat Envelope acceptance letter states that one needs to log in to view oneā€™s financial aid award. But, when logging in, at the bottom of your page, it states that your online information will be updated 3 days after your acceptance letter and/or Financial Aid award letters are sent. So, snail mail letter first and then your online page will be updated second.

My sonā€™s Priority Letter came with our regular mail.

S was also offered the science and humanities scholars programā€¦ Have no idea what that meansā€¦

is it safe to assume that if i didnt receive a ā€˜fat envelopeā€™ that i was rejected?

Did anyone in SoCal not get theirs yet? Also, do rejection letters come in priority mail as well?

Anybody has any idea when will the decisions be online? I know it will be 3/27 (3 days after mails) but what time will it be? I hope they do not coincide with ivy decisions otherwise itā€™ll make a tough time.

no letter for my S in bay area today. Does that mean rejection letter coming later? did anyone get rejection letter today or they mainly mailed acceptance and waitlist letters today? freaking out !!

Got accepted via mail!!! Kinda surprised because I didnt interview and made a typo in my essay. After the Rice n NU rejections gotta love Carnegie.
From SoCal.

Accepted to CFA, Dietrich, and BHA program!
and invited to Humanities Scholars Program!

Bay Area as well, nothing yet. Iā€™m assuming that Iā€™ll get a letter tomorrow. Iā€™m just as anxious to hear from Cal, and I have a feeling that tomorrow will be brutal.
