Who's excited for CMU decisions around the corner? Personally, I've got a sinking sensation in my gut, but I want to know my decision anyways. Where did everybody apply? I applied for SCS and Tepper.

Hay guys! ED from CIT here popping in to wish you all luck and I hope to see some of you next year

yo. Applied for Chem Eng. Feel I have an okay chance but still nervous as hell

SCS Tepper

only SCS :(

also, when do you think we’ll get our letters? I live in NC, so for me it’ll probably take at least 2 days. Ugh, if they already made all the decisions, why can’t they just release them online on the 24th?

^ I was wondering that too. The only thing I can think of is that they’re working on printing/packaging the decision letters. Doesn’t explain why they can’t put the decisions online, though. :/

Well they prepare financial aid packages for accepted and waitlisted students and the post them with the decision. So, I assume that is the reason they need those extra days…

I applied to Dietrich and MCS!

Applied to CFA and Dietrich!

can you guys read this interesting post:
<a href=“Finding out Admission Decision from Financial Aid!!! - Carnegie Mellon University - College Confidential Forums”>Finding out Admission Decision from Financial Aid!!! - Carnegie Mellon University - College Confidential Forums;

The “Perkins Loan Permissory Note” shows up on my financial aid portal requirement. Pekins Loan is given to those who demonstrate exceptional need. Plus, it showed up starting yesterday. What do you think that means guys?

Yeah, I saw that thread, but I have no idea what it means. I didn’t apply for FA, so it wouldn’t show up on my admission portal, would it?

Well, Perkins is only given to those who demonstrate extreme need. I head it is quite limited as well. So, hopefully it is CMU’s policy to use it on accepted students. Trying to be as optimistic as possible after finding out that 6% acceptance rate for SCS :D

I applied for CIT for Chem Engineering! Anyone know how selective it is?

Decisions get mailed out tomorrow! I’m so nervous.

I applied it CIT and IS. Did anyone else apply to IS?

CFA Architecture. The school of architecture had a 48% acceptance rate… new safety school? Just kidding hahah. Everyone complaining about the SCS acceptance rate, just be happy you weren’t like my friend who is going for the school of drama… 4% acceptance rate!

@Coder90 I applied to IS and SCS.

so does CMU, and specifically scs, look more at the objective stuff like gpa and SAT, over things like EC’s and essays?

I applied SCS (first), MCS Physics (second), and Tepper Business Administration (third)

@tarheel714 I have no clue, but I hope they weight the scores more for how technically focused their programs are.
