Hello MoonRiver95, according to International Admissions FAQ; nothing about “Interviews” is mentioned. If I am not mistaken, that process is only for US applicants. Check this page out…
"<a href="http://www.berea.edu/admissions/international/frequently-asked-questions/“>http://www.berea.edu/admissions/international/frequently-asked-questions/”
When did you apply?

Accepted!!! :D

CONGRATULATIONS to you CUO2014. Its really an “OPPORTUNITY OF A LIFETIME” to attend a college
“DEBT FREE”.
Have you made your decision yet, or are you waiting for other offers?

@ccco2018 I’m waiting on one more offer, but I doubt that it would beat Berea’s amazing offer, lol. Berea is like a dream come true! ^_^

@ccco2018 By any chance do you know Berea’s admissions rates into med / grad school are?
And is the labor program time consuming or intense for you?

@Cuo2104: hey congratulations !!! I’m waiting for the news. If you don’t mind, can you reveal your country.
I’m asking because I hope I still stand a chance, they only take 1 in each country :)

@thinktry thank you, and I live in USA, Texas.

@Cuo2014 thanks anyway, and congrats !

@thinktry, It seems like the international admissions is usually released sometime early April.Best of luck to you as well.

@Cuo2014, the rates for graduates and medical school is not published on Berea’s site. I did search for the same information, but could not find it. In all, I do think that colleges that post those data do so more to attract students that otherwise would not attend their institution.
It would be nice for Berea to post that, but I also feel like they do not find the need to detail specifics on that. They have published everything else in detail, especially graduation rates by all dimensions and that was quite revealing.
So far, they do have affiliation for some programs with Vanderbilt, Washington Uni. St. Louis, and I think Theater with Harvard, so for students looking forward to grad school, I think it will be a great place to be. Who knows…maybe the Eastern IVY’s will be a reality for medical or grad school from Berea’s preparation.
Just from browsing the site, I realized that Berea even provides funding for students to register for graduate exams and apply to grad schools. I was like…“who, which, does that”.
On the labor program, I do not think 10 to 15hrs a week would be that difficult to handle. There might be jobs that are not “so cool” for first year… but as the site states you get to apply to positions of your choice the following year as long as there are openings…

@Cuo2014, I was laughing when I saw your thread on UT. It actually confirmed what I have always known about large flagship state schools and even private schools that claim to meet 100% of students demonstrated need. Obviously, that meant “LOANS + LOANS”. Well, I know this is just gonna get harder as May !st deadline for all schools approach. I can only hope students think carefully before committing.

For those admitted…Anyone selected for the SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM or in the running for the Bonner’s scholar program?

I applied to BC. I am from Tajikistan. Is room and board part of the scholarship or do you have to pay for this? Plus, what are my chances to be accepted? I have a 3.98 GPA and a 1990 SAT score. AP Bio- score is 4. SAT II Math 1: 670, SAT II Bio M: 710. My essay was okay. Not bad. There is nothing else I can really say. I mentioned that I was in a big financial crisis, but I am pretty sure everyone else who applied is too. I am worried because if I do not get accepted to BC then I, probably, will not go to college next year.

@Briefcandle17, congratulations for taking the big step of applying to BC. many students in our shoes feel intimidated by the statistics when we factor in so many aspects of the application decisions. That being said, your stats are good enough for BC, however as we all know, BC sees beyond stats. Yes for International students, Room and board is included for the first year. Subsequent years, they have to contribute a little from their work program to part of their room and board - even that, is a token compared to the full cost of room and board a year.
I always believe that it is wise to have a backup plan, like applying to two or more state schools in your country where your acceptance and affordability chances are high.
In all, You have done your best, all you can do now is wait for the outcome in the next few days. I believe International students get their notification, on or before 04/16/14.
Best of Luck, and whatever the outcome is, “DO NOT USE IT AS A DETERMINANT OF YOUR MAXED POINT TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN LIFE”.

April 15 is the last day when admissions notifications should be sent.

Hopefully, we’ll hear sooner than that.

@ccco2018 do you know of any cheap state schools. The cheapest I found is $14,000 in ND, minot state uni. I applied there. Also I applied to chadron state college. I dont know man. Im lost in a way. I wish someone could suggest a cheap college to apply to. I applied to colleges that give financial aid for international students but I was rejected by 3 and put on the waiting list by 3. Berea is really my only hope right now. Good luck to y’all!

Briefcandle17: check East Central University. I think you can get out of state residential tuition waiver which brings your entire cost around 10k/11k. Gud luck.

Also, check St. Peter’s college, university of new orlean

@briefcandle; I just PM you about your question. Since this topic was just for Berea College, I did not want to detract from that.

@clarq3; I believe you are correct, that means that starting next-week, some International students may be receiving their letter based on their location. Best of luck to you.
