@oceana23 omg! now i feel hopeless! You are SO qualified.
Don’t feel hopeless! It’s nice knowing what everybody else is up to and their strengths, plus ballpark of stats, but comparison is hard because everybody is unique so I’m sure you as well as everyone else in this thread has something amazing about them that will stand out
congrats on your first few acceptances @mbhopeful20 !! that’s awesome. sounds like you, me, and @scrappy6 are applying to some of the same schools (Bowdoin and Colby!! woohoo). I’m also applying to Wililiam & Mary, Vanderbilt, Amherst, Hamilton, Colgate, Vassar, and Tufts, along with some safety schools. I recently received a likely letter from Fordham, so at least I’ll end up somewhere! But I’m not ready for all the supplements I’ll have to write if Midd turns me down… @-)
@angstyaristotle and @scrappy6 I’m also applying to Bowdoin and Colby! Tufts as well, my sister is a sophomore and loves it. Also wake forest and duke, and others that will become more solifidified based on what Midd decides to tell me a week from today :-?
And @angstyaristotle same re the supplements… So many I liked having the alum interview and no supplements for Midd, my interviewer was super nice … Did you guys all have interviews as well, and how did they go??
I had an alumni interview, too, and I thought it went really well! It was my 5th (and last!) college interview so I was pretty comfortable going in. I had a lot in common with my interviewer too…we talked a lot about skiing
I’m applying to a lot of the same schools too! (Bowdoin and Tufts!) I loved my interviewer! We had a lot more in common than the person who interviewed me for Swarthmore, so that was really good.
I had an alumni interview too! It went well…I guess. I was slightly nervous and a little awkward for the first 5 minutes of the interview, but I feel that I was able to bounce back and end the interview on a strong note #:-S
6 days!!!
I had an outstanding interview as well. My interviewer said she thought I was a great fit for Midd and would write me a “glowing recommendation.”
I am SO nervous! How are you guys going to check the decision? With your family or alone? I really don’t know what to do.
I’m going to do it very casually as if I don’t care and then try to not be let down if I’m rejected. But if I’m accepted I’ll scream like a little girl like when I got my ACT scores lol. I’ll drown my sorrows in supplements for a thousand other schools if I don’t get in.
I told my family I want to check it alone, but it sounds like they’re all gonna be right there watching me open it. That’ll be so awkward for all of us if I don’t get in lol…
I’m trying to find a way to survive this week. I’m so impatient. It’s going to be brutal.
@mbhopeful20 that’s so funny, my interviewer used that same wording! I really enjoyed my interview actually, plus it was on campus at school during a free block so super convenient. I want to open it alone as well, but I know my family will want to know right away too…
@mbhopeful20 @hgd312 my interviewer said that too!
@mbhopeful20 @hgd312 @ooblech my interviewer also said that! I have driven myself crazy all day researching and then convincing myself that I have no shot, then convincing myself that I have some shot, etc. This week will definitely be brutal. I feel like I will be incredibly irritable. I don’t think I even want my family home with me.
so either we’ve all been fed the party line or we’re all amazing candidates… I’m hoping for the latter.
Trying to predict if you have a shot at such an elite school is like trying to predict who will win the Superbowl in September… a total crapshoot. We just have to wait and see. Too bad that’s the hard part.
What’s everyone’s intended major?
yeah guys my interviewer told me that too…like almost word for word, I think!
Right now I’m thinking math for my major, but I honestly don’t know. I’m just going to take a bunch of different classes in college and see what I end up really liking!
