@vistajay and @BMC9670 , thanks… we’re still in the early stages for fall 2020 but I will definitely do my due diligence with the schools and with the state. Hopefully I can get a unified message among all sources
Quick question for those of you that have gotten log-in info. My dd just got her letter from her counselor with the log in info and she tried to log in but got a message that the site is closed? Does it not open until the 11th?
Oops, nevermind. She says it appears to be working now when she tried on a laptop. The first time she tried was on her phone.
Any other news from CA? Only one student has reported scores less than 224.
Compass Prep is back up/got updated:
“Apologies that this got mis-dated and disappeared for a few hours. My morning mail brought word on NE, OK, and TN. Most important, though, Florida is now confirmed at 219!
Just heard from a student (224 in MS) whose friend at 214 also qualified. (10:20 AM PDT). AZ has now dropped to no greater than 219.”
MA just got reported as <= 223. If true made it to semifinal as I was sitting on last year’s cutoff. Yeah!
Congratulations @matt2024!
I’m in Central Texas, and our principal just said they haven’t got the letters yet. Also said that they don’t notify the kids until the day before it goes public. So we wait. DD should be fine, but I’d feel better knowing.
@BMC9670 . I have my fingers crossed for your son! And if your son goes to UF on NMF OOS Benacquisto, I will be following your post closely. Thank you so much!
Congrats! Please, please, please let it drop to 222 like CA did!
I really hope it drops to 222 like CA as you said. Hope it is 222 and you make it. It is the difference between getting one question wrong in English vs Math. All of my friends said this year PSAT was hard. So there is a chance of 222.
Thanks! He hasn’t officially been notified yet, but there have been reports of 220 and 219 qualifying in AZ, so he should be safely in at 221.
The CA 222 is based on a post by one student/parent (out of over 2000 NMSF in CA). She found out via an email from the school. It would be nice if more reports from California substantiated the qualifying score.
Actually wondering if some one who got instructions to register for NMF portal can post those as in does it come with a specific code/student or can one register with SSN and zip code etc. If latter we can all try to see if we are eligible or not for respective SSN/DOB/School/Zip etc… Just saying.
Nevermind. Answered my own Question.
https://osa.nationalmerit.org/
“If this is your first visit to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) Online Scholarship Application (OSA) website, please enter your temporary Username and Password below. Upon successful login, you will be asked to create a permanent
Username and Password.”
So we need that temp credentials.
@matt2024 If this is the correct page, it looks like students are given a temp username and password. https://osa.nationalmerit.org/
Thanks. Yeah unless the temp username and passwd are not random like firstname+last four SSN, we can’t try to see if we qualified.
Art has posted that 220 qualified in Georgia. Hope it’s accurate but not telling my kid just in case!
Per our GC, GC has to use their credentials to generate the student’s.
This is true.
I go to boarding school in Ohio, so I don’t really know what my cutoff is, sadly. They do it by regions for boarding schools but don’t release what those regions are. Does anyone have any insight? I got a 222.
