Class of 2020 (sharing, venting, etc)

@rz1997, if you are talking about Emerson in post #951, in past years, they have offered BA slots to BFA applicants, and yes, it meant you did not get into the BFA program.

@monkey13 I have not heard from Emerson, I was talking about Marymount Manhattan !

@monkey13 Emerson no longer offers the BA. Everyone is BFA. There is further splitting after the second year into BFA Acting vs. remaining in BFA Theatre and Performance (used to be BA Theatre).

Thanks, that’s good to know!

I agree with what others have said. We felt that Chicago Unifieds was overall a great experience. She went planning to have 6 auditions and ended up with 11. All of the students and parents we met were nice and supportive. I was so impressed with how the students handled themselves. It was wonderful to meet others who are on this same journey. Also, thanks to all the veterans who recommended the executive floor. It was worth the extra $.

I definitely felt the connection with everyone that was around us was on the same journey. There were kids from all corners of the country all here because of the same common goal, it’s crazy

Of the 5 scheduled auditions I had, I ended up with 10. Rider did this thing where they cut people after a short ballet combination for the dance call, and I was cut, so I’m not applying there (it was a walk in). But there were 3 other schools I just finished my academic applications too that I did walk ins for and was EXTREMELY impressed by the faculty at unifieds. I just vibed with the faculty and talked with them and I had no idea about these programs if I hadn’t gone! Wow. That was such an amazing experience.

Is there a board for BFA acting, not just MT?

There is a board for acting, but it isn’t as active as this. I go back and forth

Here is the discussion forum for Theater/Drama/Acting Majors:

However, those interested in acting often also post on the MT Forum.

Great audition day yesterday at BW. After 4 months, finally done with college auditions. Now the wait! Hope everyone had a great weekend at LA Unifieds!

Oh- and heard of a friend’s S who heard via snail mail an MT acceptance from Rider this weekend.

Stagedoormama was he a MT or acting admit and when did he audition. Thanks.

@sbc MT :slight_smile:

Someone I know posted over the weekend that he was accepted to Hartt MT.

@deelight - I’m so new to this…can you please tell me what BAL stands for? Thanks!!

@224kimbo, BAL = Break A Leg (i.e., good luck).

Break a leg I’ve heard of - thanks!!!

can someone post the link to the post about notification dates for the programs, again?
