I’m with you, @rampions sometimes too much information is a bad thing LOL!
@rampions I am with you. We are on hold too…no change and counting the offers but this is a marathon not a sprint.
So CCM tells you that you are on hold… And then later the same day tells you that you’re accepted??
I too am an email and mail stalker. I think the waiting is the worst part. Two more auditions to go over the next two Saturdays and then all we have is waiting. D has not received an artistic acceptance yet. It is sad that the academic acceptances and merit scholarships cannot be properly celebrated. I am just grateful that you are all here to share all the ups and downs.
Yes, I agree with your strategy @rampions. I’m not telling D that at least one girl has heard from Texas State. Maybe others. That school is among the very top of her list. She knows she’s in academically there so that can’t be the hold up for her acceptance. So hard to wait! Now I find myself second-guessing choices made. Why didn’t we go to on-campus callbacks there??? I told my husband that I would prefer being knocked out until April 1. Then the time would at least seem to go by quickly … =)) Anyway, a hold at CCM is worth celebrating! I hope you get more good news soon!
Does anyone know how Rider University is notifying candidates of their decision? Portal, call, email?
Hi all. I am just checking in to say that all of the posting here is helping to keep me sane while I await results for my daughter. She auditioned for 16 schools total, she had two early results (Elon and BW, both no’s) and since then just one - an acceptance for BFA Acting when she wanted MT (not really an option either of us is excited about at this particular school) We really have no reason to think we’ll hear anything from any of her schools until mid-March, but we are both still obsessed with checking e-mail, snail mail and portals. It is so hard to be rational in this situation, so you other crazy people(said with much affection) are a real support. Thanks for sharing!
i agree with @rocsocks
Yes, it’s a lot more fun to have company when you’re in the loony-bin! @rocsocks
what will I do with all my free time once a decision is made???
Okay, guys, can someone help us out here? On the CCM hold, if the summary tab in the document title says “CCM Hold (not AD) 2016” does that mean not admitted? Asking for a friend. Those of you who were on hold and then rejected, is that what it looks like? TIA.
@monkey13 - That is what my D’s account is showing. I furrowed my brow this morning thinking about all the possibilities - the worst being what you just said, the best being ‘not Academic Decision’ which kind of makes no sense at all but since I am not worried about the academic acceptance part, that’s what I chose to believe for a half hour or so! Just will be so frustrating to wait for month for any news, hearing of holds from later audition dates, then get a hold and 24 hours later get a “no”. But will continue to hope.
I don’t feel that I’ve read on CC of anyone who has had a CCM hold then being rejected as of yet, but ? Any of the accepted students - does yours read differently?
what if it just says status “applied” and all your materials are in and you’re just waiting?
@rampions @monkey13 Did you call CCM to ask what “AD” means? I’ve called about portal messages; I haven’t always liked the answer but at least I’d know!
@artskids, I honestly AM asking for a friend…my D is a junior MT at Ithaca, LOL. I truly don’t have any stake in this…just trying to help a friend. So, no, I didn’t call.
@monkey13 I thought your D was older :-). I sometimes wouldn’t call because I wasn’t sure I wanted to know! You’d think they’d put a legend on all those abbreviations!
@bfahopeful, then you move on to shopping for the dorm room…after prom and graduation that is.
Heading to U of Oklahoma for final audition ! It has been so much fun traveling with my D. Exhausting and fun. BAL to everyone !
@momma2four We will be at OU tomorrow also (my D…). Getting ready to leave for our 5 hour drive. BAL!
So the Rider portal just changed. Until now, you could click “View my application status” and it came up “Under Review.” Now that link has disappeared and it says "How do I accept my financial aid. So is this a coy way of saying “Yes”? Or shouldn’t I read too much into it? I called Admissions, they didn’t know what I was talking about.
