Class of 2021 EA DECISIONS.

@lucky978 Even though she did the application on 11/30 everything got to them after 12/1 so yes, she is considered regular admission. They said she should start checking the site in February and should expect to see something in early or mid February. Merit scholarship money may or may not be affected by the delay. We’ll just have to wait to find out.

@tmill1111 That’s odd, I was late with my materials too but I received my decision a few days later than the EA notification date and I emailed admissions about merit scholarships and they told me my application was still given full consideration for scholarships.

@ciara2021 The schools always seem to be intentionally vague about the merit scholarships which is fine. If the only downside to missing the deadline is that we have to wait a few extra weeks then I think we’ll be really happy about that. Either way, there isn’t anything we can do now but wait.

Got my letter today… got the Centennial Scholarship but the amount drops once my Regional tuition sets in for my junior and senior year. Is 13.5k standard for the Centennial Scholarships or do they offer more? Any one else get any merit based aid?

When in March will we hear about financial aid? Anyone know?

@warrior4 hi my school sent my mid year grades last Monday and the portal updated with my acceptance on Friday. Did you hear anything back yet from URI?

@noelle2017 I keep checking and nothing pops up! I am so nervous, I hope I hear back soon.

Update: the school put me in the regular decision pool (I applied early action) because my test scores were recieved seven days later than the deadline. On 2/2 I saw it on the portal, and 2/8 I recieved a letter (dated 2/3) regarding my acceptance (with nothing about a scholarship, though I didn’t ask about it, and probably would not have recieved one anyway). Good luck to all!!!

S got merit aid of 13,500/yr. Stats: ACT 29. GPA 3.7 leadership, strong extra currics, all state drummer

@warrior4 hi I just saw this. I hope you heard back! I just saw I received a grant & im thinking maybe that’s why they needed my mid year grades? Good luck! I’m sure you’ll be accepted

@noelle2017 I wish I knew!! Making me wait is killing me!! Thanks though

Update: Finaid packages are up on the portal (for people who applied EA and were accepted on the normal timeline, I think) In addition to the Centennial, they were very generous with grants for me! Looking to switch my major to one that is regional tuition full time though…any ideas on how I should go about that?

Ciara2021 I would call the admissions or financial aid office. My S also qualifies for regional tuition for his major. It is my understanding that the regional tuition could have a impact on merit and need aid. Below is what I found on the NEBHE website. Good luck and congratulations!

Is an RSP-eligible student eligible to apply for financial aid?
Yes. A student should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and any financial aid applications required by the college(s) in order to be considered for any type of financial aid (scholarships, grants, loans and/or work-study). The RSP is a tuition discount and not a scholarship or grant.
Financial aid is awarded based on need and/or merit at the discretion of the institution. Note: If a student has been accepted for admission and received a financial aid award prior to declaring an RSP program as his/her intended major, the institution may revise the financial aid award. Note: There is no guarantee that a student’s RSP status will provide an additional discount; however, it should not result in a net increase in out-of-pocket expenses.
