Why not bold the added colleges on the list, then it becomes easier for everyone to know what was added.

There are several liberal arts colleges offering Pre-engineering course and have a 3+2 study program after transfering to some other university, giving the students double degree from both the institutions in 5 years. So that means you need a 5 years student visa. Can someone tell me if it’s possible to get a 5 years student visa in such cases. Will there be complications or is it the same as applying for a 4 year visa?

@uchihasasuke as far as I know, the visa that each student going for undergrad gets is valid for 5 years.

P.S. The students in this thread unanimously declare that all Ivy RD Decision shall be considered valid only after March 28 ( March 29 in Nepal)

@abysmalintellect likely letters are sent by ivies to a few exceptional candidates each year as a way to recruit them. These letters are sent earlier than the regular decision deadline. They are sent to only 100 or so exceptional students who a particular ivy thinks will get into other ivies also. so if you don’t know about them, google it. the guy who received the likely letter from Columbia is my friend on facebook.

There is a Huge difference between being 99% sure and 100% sure. (Google it if you dont know how HUGE) Since this thread is for official decisions only, and the very nature of a “likely letter” suggests that a candidate is ‘likely’ to get into a college, not surely to get in, and that he still hasn’t officially got in YET, it can therefore be inferred that the Columbia University one is void. However, do take the liberty to post that data after March 29 or so.

Does Caltech give sufficient aid to international student? I’ve heard it’s no use applying to Caltech as an intl student.

If you get in they will give you enough aid. Like cmon its a rich college. Getting there is probably more difficult than harvard tho

Not difficult than Harvard. Harvard is tougher than Caltech.

About the likely letter, that guy will surely get an admission in Columbia. There is no doubt about that. This thread isn’t an official release of acceptances. It just gives us an idea about college acceptances, so I think there is no problem in including Columbia acceptance.
