Class of 2022 Rice RD Discussion Thread

Just FYI. What does it mean when you can no longer withdraw your application? That little button is gone on the portal. Just curious because that’s the only difference on our portal.

Where did you get the official word? I thought we were waiting until April 1.
Thanks!

We didn’t get a decision. Just a difference in the portal, only that the little withdrawal button is now gone.

@Sierra225 Rice sent an email on Monday saying that decisions would be released today (March 23rd) by 4:30 PM Central Time.

@Burke1 Same, my portal didn’t have the application withdrawal option anymore. Anybody else notice that?

@ricecooker420 he did

@Sassmann8 hmm that’s weird. Did he look in the right place?

@Burke1 I don’t see that either…never payed super close attention to that though.

The deadline for submitting financial aid material is today. The financial office said for new students.

@ricecooker420 i looked at it with him and he only had “office of financial aid” section and no “personal info” one

@fun1234 i didnt realize until now that i have to submit my parents irs form and an irs form for myself?? Idk what those are lol and no other school had me send those…

@Sassmann8 thats really weird…i dont think its a big issue though

Ahh! Less than 2 hours left!!

@ricecooker420 My son when he filled last year he found all the stuff he needed on IDOC. Though he did early decision so he had to do it earlier. I know students already attending their deadline is later luckily because it was hard to get the W2 from his dad’s work. They don’t necessarily give it out like in past. Maybe they mean W 2 or yours or your parents tax return. My son had to send them in.

@ricecooker420 We has to send in a copy of our tax return plus obtain and send a document from the IRS stating our son had not filed an income tax return.

ahhh!! so nervous - best of luck to everyone!

Anyone feel like sharing what they put in their box?

How much do those pictures matter? I have wondered how much of a role they play in the decision making process.

@NoIdeasForAName I clicked a picture of the sunset and I put that into the box lol. I hope it’s a pretty sunset

I drew a map of the US and put a heart by my hometown and by Houston. I captioned it “home is where the heart is.” I really hope it wasn’t too much!

@operasingerjv I loved it haha. Hope you get in!
