Class of 2022 Waitlists

@rlara90 what is your major??

@rlara90 assuming you were a transfer based on your other posts in sociology correct? there are two different pools they pull from so it helps to know this. This thread was intended for freshmen congrats on getting in.

I messaged the admissions office and they just came back to me that in the next week or so they will hopefully be releasing names off of the waitlist so keep checking your bronco direct account.

@Bean981 thats insane, I can’t imagine waiting this long for a response.

yeah it kind of makes me mad as I just sunk another 190 for orientation today for the college he sir’d at. This is his #1 choice so it is so hard to make these payments (almost $1000) now for SIR, Housing and orientation only to have it lost if he gets in here. It is a racket to get more money lol. They should give you a break if it within the same system but they dont so oh well.

ooff thats rough! Where’s he going? I think for Pomona at least if you let them know in advance that your plans change you can get the orientation fee refunded. Which even that its a bit pricey. I was originally going to go Long Beach this academic year and orientation was ike $60. Pomona is $85.

He is going to SDSU if not Pomona. Yeah SIR was 400, housing 325 and orientation 110 for him and another 80 for parents. Actually it is cheap for orientation compared to UCi which I paid over 300 years ago for my daughter since they do a 2 day event.

Thats insane! Glad i’m transferring. Fortunately I’m relatively close to Pomona so it’d only a 30 minute commute. Good luck to your son! Either way I hear SDSU is a fantastic school! Also from what I hear it’s super competitive to the point where even locals get denied.

Just received an email. Got off the waitlist right after I was rejected from UCSBs waitlist…glad but idk if I should go to CSUF or cal poly hmmm decisions

Just got off the waitlist for Comp Sci today! Local.

My D was just accepted into animal science but we had SIR’d to another school. This was her #1 pick in the CSU system. Now, do we accept the loss of $455 and send her to her top choice school or give up this opportunity and send her to her very last pick… since we’ve already paid??? Wow, this has been a stressful couple of months for a lot of us and it doesn’t seem to be getting easier!

My son also got off of the waitlist for mech eng. This is also his #1 pick and we lose a lot more but I think he will accept it. Gave him the weekend to decide

I was accepted off the waitlist for chem but my parents already paid the 450 to a school that was my second choice. Can I still enroll to cpp or did paying that enrollment deposit binded me to that university?

also i was wondering for fafsa is it already to late to make corrections because I put my second choice school as the priority, but cpp accepted me out of nowhere so i was wondering if I can still make a correction to which school will receive my fafsa?

@xxsdccx from what I understand, yes you can commit to cal poly pomona, the school you payed the deposit to doesn’t bind you but you will most likely lose the 450 you paid

@xxsdccx you can commit to CPP. We are in the same boat. If you made any housing deposits, orientation fees and your SIR deposit most likely will not be refunded. I know at SDSU they wont so for us it is a lost cost but worth it since CPP is his first choice. As for Financial aid if you listed CPP as a school then they should have your info. I’m guessing we wont see any financial aid for a day or two since they didnt send emails until 7:43pm on Friday. I’d call them on Monday if you want on the financial aid as that will help make your decision as well if you are depending on that money.

Losing the SIR money is just a drop in the bucket considering total college cost. You should absolutely go to the college you want rather than worrying about losing money. There are so many expenses in college where you feel you wasted money (bought wrong text books, dropped class, changed major etc). That’s just how it is.

oh ok well that 450 was a waste then, cpp literally sent me an email right after we made the deposit but im glad ill be a bronco now @Bean981

@pleaseacceptj your post made me feel not as guilty about the loss of that huge deposit, but getting off that waitlist is a sign that im destined to be at cpp to be a bronco since i heard getting off is the luck of the draw

@Bean981 did you already pay all the necessary fees at sdsu or just the enrollment deposit? my parents were about to pay the housing depositing which was 400 plus the enrollment 450 which would of total to be 850 thank goodness we held off on housing or else we wouldve lost almost 1k
