im curious about the stats of people that got waitlisted. Post below if you dont mind.

■■■ :(

Major: Architecture

gosh, glad you started this thread. thanks, good to see your stats and major.

I am surprised that they are waitlisting people already. would have thought the waitlist notification would come AFTER acceptances and with the rejections.

good luck to you all. we are still waiting for DD notification, still “no determination”

GPA: 4.0 weighted
SAT: 1320/2020
Major: Architecture
Ive had work experience over the summer and about 570 hours of volunteering.

Zita, we are in the same boat! Could it have something to do with the major we applied to?

Wow, those are some good stats to wait list. Im still not determined…

Any one waitlisted for business?

Major: Animal Science
GPA: 3.5W
ACT 31
ECs, job experience, good Sat2 scores

Does anyone know how Cal Poly selects students from the waitlist? Maybe after February 23rd’s housing deadline?

No one has been rejected so far from Cal Poly that I know of…

after a certain amount of accepted students officially SIR at other schools (say someone got into cp AND got into Cal, and opted to go to cal) then spots on the waitlist will move up to accepted students. the order of waitlist is by their point system. more points you have, higher on the list you are, more likely it will be that you will move from waitlisted to accepted.

just cross your fingers that lots of the accepted people were mega geniuses and got into harvard, cal, ucla, and such. im sure plenty will

Has anyone been waitlisted for Food Science?

waitlisted for psychology

3.73 GPA
1380/1940 SAT
30 ACT

crapppppppppppppppp

GPA:3.8W
SAT:1980
ACT:30
applied as a bio major, and this is one of my backups :(

Can’t believe I got waitlisted to Cal poly even tho I got accepted to UC Irvine,
yea Im definetely going to cal poly /sarcasm

GPA: 3.72W
SAT I: 1340/2060
Major: Sociology
Leadership roles, a job, lots of volunteer hours…

SIGH. I just hope I get into UC Irvine. But Cal Poly is also a top choice :(

My son just got waitlisted at Cal Poly…I can’t believe it…Applied for Aerospace Engineering… Stats: 4.0 unweighted…1890 SAT, 31 ACT with 35 Math on ACT! Luckily he already got admitted into his first choice school…

GPA: 3.83

Leadership Experience, Volunteer, Work Experience

:/

How are you guys finding out about these? Email or on the site?

I found out only by logging on to the portal.

"You have been placed on the waitlist at Cal Poly for Fall. You will be receiving a letter with more information very shortly. "–Thats what my message says :[

Some of your guys’ stats are really good, I dont understand why we are waitlisted while people with lower stats get in.

My son thinks it must be the major he is applying for. We know someone with higher SAT score but lower GPA, already accepted to Cal Poly but for Biology major. Engineering and Architecture are best programs at Cal Poly so most competitive…Or possibly more applicants? I don’t know…It is anyone’s guess why some people with lower stats get in…

i also applied for business and got waitlisted :frowning:
GPA: 3.9
SAT: 1880
extra curriculars and leadership positions.

does anyone one know when we are supposed to find out if we made the final cut? im sick of this waiting nonsense.

any engineering and arch are RATED programs in the country for CP. they have tons of apps from here, there, and everywhere around the world… you have to be good to get in for any of those. really good. they are impacted AND acceptance stats are WAY high
