Good luck to your son @laxmom2000. My son took the SAT for the third time in October to qualify for a scholarship. He’s only 10 points away for the next level so I’m hoping he will retake. Fortunately Baylor superscores and will allow him to retake up until the day before!
Has anyone received a decision today?
My son was accepted today. It showed up in his goBaylor account around 10am
@kpppkp - my son was just accepted today! Received an email about 20 minutes ago!
Thank you all for your encouraging words. Last week was tough as many of his classmates received a decision and he didn’t. Patience is a virtue.
And for those looking at stats/information for the future (because I scoured these boards and other websites trying to get an idea):
GPA: 3.6 (UW); 4.1 (W)
Rank: 122/593 - top 20.5%
SAT: 1230 (superscored)
Major: Business (entrepreneurship and finance)
ECs: Presidential Volunteer Service Award; started and runs his own business; tutor to foreign exchange students.
I have a question - on the “you’ve been accepted” page of the GoBaylor" account it refers to an acceptance letter. Where is that letter? Does it come in the mail - like snail mail? Trying to figure out deadlines for deposit and mainly housing.
Thanks.
I was accepted today! It was a total surprise because i was accepted with my 1110 SAT! beyond happy!
@glowingdolphin - congrats! That’s wonderful news! My son’s friend was accepted last week with an SAT score of 1120 and she was also surprised. I saw in another post that your ACT score was 26 - so that ACT score converts to about an SAT score of 1250 - I think. That probably helped a lot!
@SAMomofOne Probably haha! thank you!
WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!! I’m so glad to read about today’s acceptances coming in! Congratulations!!! Now, if Trinity would just hurry up and make some decisions, my son could, too!
@GermanMama - any idea of when Trinity will announce admissions? We live in San Antonio - my son didn’t want to stay here to go to school but I would have loved for him to go to Trinity!
@SAMomofOne I exchanged emails with DD’s Baylor admissions counselor and she told us the housing application will open next week. Our plan is to pay the deposit after this weekend (we are attending an I2E event at Baylor) if she is still 100% convinced Baylor is the place for her and to apply for housing as soon as the housing app opens. I think you can also reserve your spot for Line Camp once you pay your deposit, too.
For the people accepted so far, what is your (or your child’s) major going to be?
My daughter is going to major in neuroscience.
My son wants to major in physics.
Medical Humanities for my son.
Do we know what day next week housing apps open? My son is interested in Brooks Residential College. Well the truth is I am interested for him
@SAMomofOne
I remember my son saying that Trinity’s decisions–even for Early Action–would be closer to Christmas . . . but that’s what Baylor said, too, and he was admitted on 24 October, so let’s hope he finds out soon. He had the application completed at the same time as Baylor. This is getting so exciting now that it feels “real” for them. My son will study engineering with an emphasis later on in petro/chemical. What are everyone’s thoughts about housing? @ratsnotmice You got me thinking that we better start studying his housing options more closely!
Congratulations to all the recent admissions!! My daughter got her acceptance yesterday!! Thank you to all of you for words of encouragement and the helpful knowledge on this process. Last week was tough with so many of her friends finding out. Learning we sometimes have to wait on things we really want is not always a bad thing. My daughter did get her UT Acceptence last Friday which helped a little but she was holding out for Baylor.??
The housing portal says it opens Nov 13th
Housing - Nov 13 is what we were told, too.
@tdawns my DD is listed as neuroscience too! I think she may switch to biochem. She’s touring the science building tomorrow afternoon, so I’m sure will be asking lots of questions on both majors.
@ratsnotmice I also love the sound of Brooks housing. It’s my daughter’s 2nd choice. She likes the sound of the people, activities, and community of North Russell. And the renovations don’t hurt!
@teaforwendy the science building is amazing! She can’t wait for neuroscience! She likes the psychology aspect of it.
