Class of 2024: Chance me | UC Berkeley

Hi everyone! I would appreciate it if you guys chanced me for Fall 2020 admission to UCB. Anyone can comment, but I would appreciate UC Berkeley students or families who have Berkeley students.

SAT: 1300 (640 in English and 660 in Math)
ACT: 28

AP Tests: AP Lang - 3 (moved to public high school in 11th grade for more AP classes)

Educational Preparation Program

  1. MESA for 11th (the only educational preparation program available to me, took it because I was interested in the sciences and wanted to join competitions; 1 hour/week, 30 weeks/year)

Award or honor

  1. Principal Honor Roll for 11th grade (received when I moved to public high school to challenge myself; previous school did not give out awards because there was no money to do so)

Thank you!

you look competitive but, with a 15% admit rate, it is a long shot even for well qualified applicants.

please apply broadly.

I agree overall you are a competitive applicant especially your EC’s but your test scores will be an issue. ACT is at the 25th percentile and Sat is below the 25th percentile.

UCB should be considered a Reach regardless of your qualifications and as stated by @NCalRent, hopefully you applied broadly and have a couple of safety schools on your list.

2019 UC capped weighted GPA averages along with 25th-75th percentile range:
UCB: 4.23 (4.15-4.30)

2018 Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 4.20 or above capped weighted and not major specific:
UCB: 37%

25th - 75th percentiles for ACT composite + language arts
UCB: 28-35

2019 Data:
25th - 75th percentiles for SAT totals:
UCB: 1340-1540

Best of luck.

Hi y’all! Thank you @Gumbymom and @NCalRent for replying. I found out that my UC GPA is a 4.48 with my college courses included, and without them they would be a 4.08.

Does this increase my chances at getting into UC Berkeley? Feeling kind of put down after UCLA rejection, but I’ll get over it

Also, if I get rejected from UCLA, do I still have a chance at getting into Berkeley or are my chances pretty much done?

Thank you again!

each campus reviews aps on their own so, a decision by one UC has no bearing on your ap at another. There’s enough subjectivity in the process, I wouldn’t infer about UCB from the LA rejection.
at this point, you’ll just have to wait and see.
good luck.

Concur with @NCalRent ^^^. You will find out soon enough so best of luck.
