Class of 2024 Nepal

Hi, I wanna know how +2 grades add up in the admissions process. From what I hear, it’s really hard (near impossible) to get 3.9+ in plus 2 while most good colleges expect 3.8+ at least.
In A level/ AP you usually get 4 for an A and 4.3/5 for an A* while in plus two you only get 3.6 for an A which seems rather unfair to me.
I am an A level student but I want to help a friend out so if any of you who applied (or got in) from plus 2 know how the grades actually stack up, please tell.

well it’s very very hard to get 3.8 also in +2. As far as the data goes around 3000 students per year get 3.6+ in 12 and a mere 1100 in 11 . 3.8+ is very very rare as fas as I know.

@wornoutwaffle exactly, my question is, does that mean +2 students just have an absolute unfair disadvantage in the process or is there some sort of standardization they can do? or do typically admitted +2 students have lower gpa than 3.7-3.9 bc here in a levels any less than 3.7 means you’re screwed for the process(unless you can pay a significant amount).

we can do the WES evaluation which standardizes the score. but it is quite expensive. well they say the college we are applying to converts our score on some standard scale. need to ask the universities about it.

don’t know much about it sorry

hey guys!
congratulations to whoever have been accepted to the ivies and elites.

Also , does any body know anyone who have been accepted to Yale Nus or already received the interview decision for round 2. Please let me know.
