why on Earth is the uconn administration like this
Not lying, I’ve been on this forum forever and I’m a mom lol
We are in state and no email.
I have an email. I’ll copy it word for word:
"Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Connecticut! The Office of Student Financial Aid Services (OSFAS) is delighted that you are joining us this fall! Your 2020-2021 financial aid award (including any recent changes) is available for your review and/or action via the Student Administration (SA) System.
Detailed instructions for accepting or declining your awards can be found by clicking the ‘Student Help’ link on the top tool bar.
Please be aware that your financial aid award is considered an estimate until the OSFAS receives and reviews all documentation that is requested. Remember to check your email account frequently! Requests for information and any changes to your financial aid award will be communicated via email.
If your award letter includes “Estimated Fed Parent Loan Eligibility”, this is a parent loan option to help cover your educationally related expenses. Additional information about the Federal Parent PLUS Loan is forthcoming by e-mail.
UConn is committed to ensuring that our students are aware of the financial investment they are making from the beginning of their program. Therefore, we have adopted the Financial Aid Shopping Sheet, which is a standardized form developed by the U.S. Department of Education for students to compare the estimated costs of colleges and the types and amounts of aid available. The costs listed are subject to change and aid is contingent upon meeting all eligibility requirements. Your shopping sheet is available by clicking the ‘Financial Aid Shopping Sheet’ link in the SA System.
If you have any questions please contact the Office of Student Financial Aid Services. A member of our client services staff will assist you.

Too bad it’s not on my portal lol
I got this as well, looks like I’m in!
I seriously want to know what UCONN’s problem is. It’s a little ridiculous that they’re sending out this email to some and not others. Not only that, but the email went out without any financial aid information being posted!
So did the financial aid office jump the gun and send their letters before admissions sent out their decisions?
@jmsstb basically. But they sent out letters without actually even telling us the aid. This is the most disorganized college by far
Yes, everyone I’ve heard of is in state
@h8annah
Honestly I’m not surprised. I graduated from UConn many, many years ago and nothing has changed. And now my poor D has to deal with it too.
This is bad
@jmsstb both my parents went to UCONN, but they don’t recall dealing with anything like this.
Maybe they will release the decisions at 7:30 or 8?
I haven’t gotten an email or anything should I be worried??
This definitely did not happen last year. Nor did the “leak” earlier this week in regards to merit and fin aid. This is an embarrassment to the school.
Guys, if you didn’t get an email don’t be worried! It seems like everything is crazy and they don’t know what they’re doing exactly. The whole thing is disorganized so everyone might not have gottten it @jaimeelynn7
There still isn’t even a financial aid award to view so obviously it doesn’t really mean anything
i’m so upset, i’m instate and didn’t receive any email regarding financial aid
We are in state, yes. My son does ECE too
It does feel incredibly disorganized, but they’re working with the new portal system so I’m trying to be understanding.
So weird, they really messed up sending that email before decisions are on the portal
