Class of 2024 - University of Connecticut

accepted into storrs liberal arts!
sat: 1400
gpa: 3.3

very exciting

Accepted into Storrs ACES!!
3.49 GPA Weighted
1200 SAT
Strong essay
In-state
Well rounded extracurriculars, no sports.

@jaimeelynn7 if youā€™re going to appeal, Iā€™d work to improve your SAT score. Uconnā€™s average is 1320, and while you are in the range, it doesnā€™t hurt to improve. Nursing is very competitive, so this might help

Does anyone know how it works between being accepted academically and to the Drama program? We got an acceptance to the Academic Center for Exploratory Students (ACES) and not sure if this means we have to wait to hear from the Theater department or what. Any idea?

Does anyone else have no merit and academics saying ā€œnot evaluatedā€
GPA 3.9 SAT 1530, shows only financial aid.

Accepted to Hartford ACESā€¦ not really sure what that means: 2 years of bench warming before I can work on my major?
Iā€™m out of state- they gave me about $25,000 in grants etc. $20,000 loans. Iā€™m not sure of the total tuition + R&B costs?

Stats:
4.0/4.4 weighted, tons of Honors (no access to AP where I lived)
1190 SAT (I was very ill that day)
Good or great essays.
Great extra skills (5 languages)
Good-great extrac.
Great volunteering
Great teacher references (I believe)

Would it be worth appealing for scholarships cause it doesnā€™t show I got any ?

1310 sat
3.9 w gpa
Top 2% of class

I also have academic as ā€œ not evaluated ā€œ if that means anything

Accepted, OOS with 23.5k/yr scholarship, but I donā€™t see anything about honors? A little surprising since it appears to be one of the bigger OOS merit amounts offered. Is it possible to appeal not getting into the program? I have a 33 ACT, 3.8 UW GPA, 12 AP classes, and some decently prestigious national awards. If I were to send a mid year transcript (took 6 AP classes plus some other classes last semester and ended with mostly Aā€™s) and updated on a new international level award could they possibly let me in? I just canā€™t really justify UConn and the OOS tuition without honors unfortunately.

Accepted
OOS (MI)
1520 SAT
Top 10 in class
Engineering
Honors program
Academic Excellence Scholarship. $7500/yr

Accepted OOS pharmacy storrs with 20k/year- 1400 SAT 4.5 GPA, 7/316 weighted rank

@2024parentbfa I read this earlier today and here is the link: https://sfa.uconn.edu/admissions/faq/

When will I hear the results of my audition or portfolio review?
Once we make our recommendations from the School of Fine Arts, the University Admissions office makes a holistic review of all of your application materials, including the common application and the recommendation from the appropriate department in Fine Arts. You will receive one decision letter from the University of Connecticut Undergraduate Admissions Office by March 1st.

What if I am admitted to the University but not to the School of Fine Arts program to which I applied?
You may be admitted to a second choice major. If no second choice major has been selected in the application, we provide you an offer to the ACES program.

Iā€™d still contact the department though for more info to see what options might be availableā€¦hoping all the best for you!

@debmurray Thank you. Fingers crossed

My D Oos accepted for bioengineering. 20k a year.

In-state DS accepted for Business, branched to Hartford for fall then admitted to Storrs for spring semester. Does anyone know if this can be appealed?

Wait how do you he got into spring storrs? I got branched but it never told me hold long. Where do you find out?

accepted to nursing at storrs with a 1340 and 4.1 gpa!! Very excited!!

I still havenā€™t received my decisions yet. I open my portal and itā€™s nothing there.

My son OOS was accepted to Storrs for the spring semester and is required to complete the fall semester at Stamford or one of the other campuses. He is enrolled in the School of Business.

How hard is it to change your major? In my case i want to switch from computer engineering to management info systems

My son has the same thing. No scholarship. Does anyone know if itā€™s worth appealing??
