Class of 2025 Admissions Decisions ONLY - Pitt

Have any in-state students heard back on merit? I got an interview for the Stamps scholarship last month and won’t hear if I made the next round until Jan/Feb, but haven’t heard anything for general merit yet…don’t know if it takes longer in state or if they are waiting to see if I wash out of the Stamps scholarship first… just curious of others’ experience

@Precious29

How long did it take for the merit letter to come after the acceptance letter? Thnks!

Yes, same… Got email of acceptance on 12/11, no snail mail letter yet…

@grad2025mom - about 2 weeks

Acceptance on 11/2, merit on 11/18.

My son is in-state, but did not apply for Stamps. He was accepted on October 13th for engineering and received his merit letter just last week (2 months).

In your case, I wouldn’t be surprised if they are waiting to see how things go with the Stamps application.

thanks for the information…I appreciate it.

My daughter is in state… accepted mid October (high stats - 1570 SAT and 4.0 GPA with very rigorous schedule). No news on merit yet. She did not apply for Stamps, but did apply to Honors.

My student got the buttons today! Applied mid-Nov but missed some info. Application was ready Dec 7th. Arts and Sciences.

  • OOS, suburban public school
  • 4.47 GPA (or around that)
  • 35 ACT
  • NMSF, NHS, Spanish Honors Soc, AP mentor etc
  • 10+ AP courses
  • Nice set of ECs - Science, sports, research, volunteering, and leadership. But no national level recognition or solving world hunger plans.
  • No idea how the essays were! I was not privy to the application process. :zipper_mouth_face:

Pitt was a top choice - it was the Goldilocks of schools. Honors program would be amazing.

Thank you! It’s our first acceptance, so it’s a bit of relief too. :sweat_smile:

Hey all

Son received acceptance letter back in early November, just received merit letter yesterday!
We were not expecting merit after reading about changed Pitt had supposedly made last year; happily surprised…still waiting on honors

Stats:
GPA:4.0
ACT: 34
average ECs but clearly committed to a couple(incl volunteering) throughout HS
School: Dietrich

Good luck to everyone in a truly nutty year!

I just received a text message saying thank you and all. Does that mean anything? I know that if you see buttons, it means you’re accepted but how do I know if I got rejected?

Son applied early November, accepted 3 weeks later.
