Ours was a Friday
Itâs usually been Friday unless it was before thanksgiving break in which it was that wednesday. Basically last workday of the week.
My OOS kid just was notified of merit of $10K per year. That seems ridiculously low with a weighted GPA of 4.6 (and SAT 1470) and already accepted to the Honors College. Most classes were AP or Honors.
Does that seem in line with what others have seen?
I got my acceptance December 11th but a new decision date popped up. Is this for the honors college? I applied but havenât heard back yet. If anyone got into the honors did this happen to you too?
Decision released: January 29, 2021
Decision: Admit: Regular
Entry term: Fall 2021
Admitted College: College of Engineering
Admitted major: Computer Science (BS)
That does seem really low I had lower stats and got more merit and Iâm OOS too.
My daughterâs decision release date has changed to today as well. She was accepted the end of November for Biological Sciences.
I will cross my fingers for both of you!
yes the decision date changed to a date about a week in the future but there was no update on the decision letter. Then when that date rolled around - they added the letter for honors acceptance
yes, my decision date changed to Jan 29th after getting my acceptance on Jan 14th. Turns out, I got into the Honors College. hoping it is the same for you all as well
admitted as a CS major in December and admitted to the Honors College 1/29

top 5% class rank
4.357 w GPA 3.729 uw

Are all the EA nursing acceptances out yet? My D was admitted in December, but her nursing major friend hasnât heard yet. She did receive a letter saying that they had an âexcellent pool of candidates, blah, blah, blahâ but she said it didnât deny her or defer her. It didnât sound like it said much, but she doesnât know if sheâs still being considered. Did anyone else get that letter?
Congratulations!
EA applicants were supposed to have a decision by yesterday. Sounds like it warrants a call to admissions.
Has anyone successfully appealed the awarded merit amount this year? My D21 was accepted to Nursing on the earliest possible date of 11/4/20. Maybe it was just luck/chance, but my hope was that they viewed her as a strong candidate to get the acceptance that early (4.5 WGPA with lots of rigor). She received a decent merit amount (10k) but we were hoping for more after seeing prior yearâs award levels. Just wondering if thereâs any chance for reconsideration and if anyone else had any luck.
I think they re-calculated GPA (not sure exactly how but Iâm guessing UW would make it more equal since schools weight differently (our schoolâs highest gpa is 4.4). In the past they used test scores (which my daughter was counting on).
Yes, I figured that the recalculated GPA comes into play. She has 3.7 UW. Was just hoping to hear that someone had some success through an appeal. My D has a friend who has higher stats and likely 4.0 UW and she only received 15k from Delaware which is not the top award. So, it doesnât seem like they followed a true formula across the board.
Did she submit test scores? If not perhaps they are TO for admission but do use scores for merit. My D21 also nursing accepted 11/4 had4.0UW and 35ACT and got the 17K merit offer.
Yes, I think they needed more than just UW, maybe test scores or maybe something like rigor? My daughter got $15,000, almost 3.9, 33 ACT. My daughter at UD had 3.7 UW and 34 ACT and got $17,000.
Yes, she did submit scores and they were definitely on the low side. It seems as though they likely took this into account when determining the merit amount. Her class rigor is strong at a competitive public PA high school. Thanks to everyone for all of the responses. She has some really great options to choose from. Some of which she would have no debt after 4 years (with our help). With Delaware, sheâll have to take the student loan to make it work.
I wonder if major plays a role (nursing is so competitive) or they are looking at other things we donât realize. My dd got the 17K OOS and honors college. She has excellent rigor but an ACT score a bit lower than those mentioned so the test score must not be the ultimate determiner.
Yes, there must be other factors and major probably plays into it as well. Either way, Iâve seen many others on this thread with much lower merit offered, so weâre happy with the 10k. If it was any lower, it would probably take Delaware off the list completely. The reality is that Nursing is so competitive everywhere we are just thrilled that she has choices after acceptances at really decent schools (Temple, West Chester, Drexel and waiting for a few more).
