Kinesiology / HHD
Weighted gpa: 4.34
Unweighted gpa: 4.029 I think
Test optional
Rank: 30/316
In state: Many kids from my school apply there and go there every year, so they are extremely familiar with our school and what our gpa means.
Double legacy (both parents went)
Hope this helps:)
Great news! S21 also accepted to IST!
I got accepted! College of Engineering UP with an intended major in Computer Science.
Nothing yet for my D21. She applied to Agricultural Sciences (Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences.) The wait continues…Congrats to all of you who heard today!
Congrats !! Can you plz share your stats/OOS ?
3.6-3.7 UW (7 APs, with the rest being mostly honors classes), 1470 SAT (1500 superscore but Penn State did not accept my superscore), I am OOS.
Do you think this is the only drop we will see today? Is it typically once a day for PSU?
Major?
Congrats
Congrats everyone! Nothing here yet.
Thank you!!! Psychology which is obviously in liberal arts.
AWESOME!!! We just changed her to IST two days ago. I don’t know if that made a difference in her decision timeline since a bunch of DUS acceptances came through this morning also - but she is happy to have been accepted into the college that she wants!
It is generally only overnight - but in past years as the decision deadline approached, more drops would happen during the day. So in short - generally no, but maybe
Received acceptance this morning! DUS, out of state, submitted scores! Yeahhh!
In the “old days” housing was determined by order of acceptance of contract - i.e. when the deposit was paid. Now it’s a random lottery so it doesn’t matter when you accept the offer.
Interesting new system, which I’d been told about by people definitely in the know, but hadn’t seen it myself yet…
It used to be that housing preference was determined by the order in which students put down deposits and accepted their offer. Therefore, the sooner you deposited, the better chance for the housing you chose.
They have changed this, and now the housing is random - just like decisions! At first, I was irked by this. But after discussions and thinking about this, it makes perfect sense. Since PSU is random in decisions, it’s not the students fault if they hear later than others. Also, since FinAid decisions aren’t made until February, it makes sense that those students should not be penalized in housing decisions.
So, you pick two housing preferences and then your name is pulled out of another bucket randomly and they try to match you to your first preference if available. Then your second choice if available. Then anywhere else if not available! At the end of the day though, your student will live somewhere. Freshmen students are guaranteed housing and sometimes even what is considered to be the “worst” housing (supplemental!) ends up really working out for kids. It’s all part of the adventure of college!
Woke up today to an acceptance for Aerospace Engineering at UP! Congrats to everyone who got a decision last night and for those who didn’t, hang in there!

Did the optional Personal Statement
But now we need to check for the “change my test-optional answer” to go gray several times a day! Haha
Still nothing. What a surprise (not). It’s a great feeling for a 17 year old already to be stressed beyond belief to have every single person he knows be accepted but him.
Hang in there. Everyone will soon know.
No news doesn’t mean anything beside the fact they didn’t get to your “bucket” yet
